Word just dropped that Apple will be revealing their Iphone OS 4 April 8th. If they let Apple get this thing out before they do....:silent:

evo isn't gonna have much of an impact on ppl. look at it this way, 70ish % of America voted for Obama. 70% of ppl withsmartphones have an iPhone. ppl wanted change. change they got. with that change came a democracy change. we now have a ruler who tells us what we can and can't do. censorship anyone! the apple iPhone is exactly that kind of analogy. its ruled and censored by apple. there for ppl will continue to buy apple, cause they're the same now as they were then. they want 'change' and love it. I for one will continue to live outside the box cause I don't want to be ruled with my phone as we are with our pres. for further reference the iPhone shall be called the Obama phone. long live android!

sprint has one issue its they suck at big releases they tease and show but by the time they give what they been showing something better is already upcomming sprint needs to speed it up

theyve lagged around enough.

they already allowed the tmobile hd2 to erupt. no telling how many new customers they got because of that..

the evo shouldve been released this month, not "this summer"

A ruler that tells us what we can and cant do? Would you rather have a ruler that lies and sends us to war over false pretenses causing us to splurge billions of US dollars every month to "patrol" civilians? Or what about one that literally destroyed our economy and led unemployment to record highs? Or one that bombed Iraq to smitherines and then hired the VP's "former" company to go over there and rebuild... the same company that doesnt even think enough of the US to house their offices here but in Dubai? Please... I could go on for days. That's a change that was NEEDED and comparing that to the iphone is pretty ridiculous.

Im guessing you're a republican... what positive, if ANYTHING did the last president do for this country? Cash for clunkers jumpstarted the auto industry that had US automakers on the verge of bankruptcy. Unemployment is down and more jobs have been created ALREADY than in the whole second term of the "last" president. Universal healthcare is in the works, and more jobs are hiring than laying off for the first time in years... you sound like Rush Limbaugh.. maybe you should do like he said he was going to do if healthcare passed and leave the country.

Oh Gawd... here we go. in a nutshell I dont want a "ruler". The President is in the EXECUTIVE branch... I think todays kids dont realize that. He is not supposed to "rule" anything. The LEGISLATIVE branch are the only ones that are supposed to even remotely resemble a "ruler". This country is a Republic, (not even a democracy), so there should be no one "ruler".
Oh, and I for one think our countries problems began with the lax loaning regulations that were put in motion by President Clinton.
Thats really all I am going to say, because I dont want to get kicked off the forums for political debate. I dont think its allowed here.... could be wrong.

I was hoping for an April release like some of the other rumors were floating around, but it doesnt look like that will happen. I wanted to go to the store and tinker with it. Still dont think it will be able to make me leave muh SERO though. Im cheap :)

Well on the plus side the iphone os 4.0 really didnt show anything spectacular... but we all know apple really never has to just to be able to sell. I figured Sprint would be dragging their legs.. they should have had that EVO out no later than the end of May.

I agree, the Obama 4.0 phone didn't show us anything. as jobs said, 'just like the iPad' lol. so the analogies months ago were true, the Obama phone is just like the iPad. why didnt they just design a larger Obama phone? oh wait they did :-P

Yes, I have spoke with a few different reps, in person, and on phone, and I have concluded none of them have any idea.
The most reliable one I have spoken with was a Sprint electrician at a cell site on my company's property. I asked him about 4G. He explained what it takes to upgrade tower to 4G, and when asked about the Evo, he said "Yeah I heard they were launching that thing end of May."
Other than that, none of the three Sprint/Nextel reps that were recently at my job, had any clue to launch date, except "summer"
I get the feeling most of us on these forums have a better idea then most Sprint employees. Supersonical on android forums seems pretty well informed, and most people there respect his opinion.

I cant believe that they havent even started advertising it yet... that alone leads me to believe that it wont be this month or May. Then again Sprint has been known to lack in the department of advertising but I find it REALLY hard to believe they'd goof that up with this phone.

April 16th is the supposed day for Sprint to start pushing this thing. We can only wait and see.

2 days till we find out if the 16th rumor is true or not about info on the evo.. hope we get info on the evo and the other devices.

Crazy part is how secretive they're keeping it even in the corporate office. When I worked for them (before I got laid off) we'd always have the inside info weeks ahead of time mainly because they would bring the store employees into our office to train them and we'd always get to see the new phones way ahead of time. With this.. my friend thats still there is telling me that they're keeping this thing under wraps like the manhattan project.

have already seen new sprint commercials stating 'and soon to be first 4g capable device' then picture of the evo. think Dan is in commercial too.

Yeah i don't see sprint messing this one up. There's already a buzz around amongst other carriers and their customers asking about the evo ( I know ppl that work at all the major carriers) but they have to go hard and go soon in order to convince people to switch carriers. With iPhone os 4 coming out, people are intrigued at the fact that a fourth installment of the iphone is due soon as well. When that happens, the evo will have the same fate as many other devices. Sprint is hoping the evo attracts a lot of new customers but the window is very small to achieve that...

For now I'll take the nexus, so sprint should release it asap just so I can get my android fix ...

I just want em to release it to me. Haha. But keep in mind they aren't gonna push the nexus. It'll just fly under the radar as an option. Anyone that "knows" anything about the evo will know the nexus is the inferior device. So it won't steal the thunder from the evo. The only person that would want the nexus is someone that wants a smaller pocketable device in which case wont make a difference anyways whether it comes out before or after the evo.. Plus it won't be sold in retail chains anyways...

True... and really it doesnt make much sense for them to keep waiting to release the cdma nexus considering there are so many other google phones about to drop with better specs.

damn thing better come with case is all I'm saying. the hero didnt which is fine, it fit in my vogues pouch. but I'm not about to carry around one of my fiancees purses just to hold this beast :-D

I really haven't seen them doing a great deal of advertising on this phone either. I did however come across a contest they are doing for it. You can win one before they release it (which it seems like their never going to do). Here's the link for it.

Notice this ends 5/9, so it definitely won't be released before then. While I too am drooling over this phone, I checked the 4G coverage map and FL has NO 4G coverage anywhere yet. angry9:

Why is the contest only for Sprint Premier customers? SERO members don't qualify to be Premier customers, so I'd have to give up my SERO plan to get an EVO. I'm not going to give up SERO just to enter a contest.

i only read this page, but assuming it hasnt been mentioned since the post 2 up from here is dated 4-14-2010, so dont burn me, but i saw an article at htcpedia (totally unsourced) that said june 13 at best buy for 199 dollars. lets all just hope this is true.
