Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
I used to despise phones without a keyboard (and I do wish this had a comparable keyboard to the TP2, which I think is the best one out) but after trying out some newer phones that have 3.7" screens and up with haptic feedback...well screw the keyboard and WM. Android 2.1 here I come!

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
I plan on selling my TP2 early and get the most money out of it within the next month and just use an old treo700wv. If i get $250 for my TP2 then i am halfway there for the Supersonic EVO 4G!

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
For once as a sprint customer, I'm happy.

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
Why couldn't they include a keyboard :( :(
If this phone had a keyboard, I would drop Windows Mobile. |

I've used the touch pad keyboards and nothing compares to a good slide out keyboard.
|
Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
Man the overwhelming size of this thing if it had a keyboard.... It would be like walking around with a netbook in your pocket hahaha Ok I am exaggerating but it would be huge.

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
I dont see the major hype for the keyboard either... I rarely ever even slid mine out on my tp2 and I have a 3gs, a nexus and a hero now and I can text as fast on them as I could on the keyboard in landscape mode. Plus android 2.1 has voice to text... which i'd say is generally about 95% or so accurate for me so half of the time I dont even have to use the virtual keyboard.

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
im a BIT dissapointed with no release date mentioned, and even so "a summer" release..
its gonna be a long couple of months.. and no telling what else will be coming out within that timeframe.. they need to release it now, get the ball going, get everyone on board with sprint while they still can. |

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
Phone looks really nice But >>
1) I would most likely have to change my plan. I am on a Free & Clear 2000 minute plan which includes a line for my Mom, for $99.00/month. So far, Sprint Only Allows me to purchase a New device, without changing plans, if it is a WinMo phone, which this is not. 2) I can always get my Mom on Boost, and switch plans, but I am used to Windows and all the applications I use, and I don't know how Windows compares to Android. Any thoughts regarding the above? I am currently using a Diamond, which I have gotten used to..with it's frailities sp? and all. |

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
i was about to go get a hero tomorrow then i saw this ... ill keep my touch pro and keep my upgrade and get this the day it comes out... thank you sprint you just gave me more time to save up

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
I've been reading and digging all day and I must say I'm siked but the only thing that scares the crap out of me is (knowing how Sprint is and they are pushing the 4g aspect of it really hard) I just know there will be an additional monthly fee for the 4g part??? Seems inevatible
Well they finally got me off of my free and clear plan so now I'm on the everything plan and I'm fine with that but I simply can not take another hike to some sort of everything pluss pluss crap just to be able to run a 4g phone that does not and will not have 4g in my area for quite some time... The final price of the phone after new contract will be high, we all know that, Sprint is famous for that!! And I can deal with that because this phone will deserve it to some extent... Well more so than most of the phones in recent memory BUT another change in plan sturcture will be the final nail in the coffen for me. Sadly I will have to pass on the phone and probably Sprint too for the next couple of years at least... Is there any rumors on plan structure changes for this phone??? |
Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
Sadly after 9 years with Sprint... I'm gone...
After tomorrow... (hd2) I believe I would have actually stayed if this thing was going to run on WM... but running on Android... He!! no!!! Specs are nice... HD2 here I come... |
Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
This will be mine soon after it releases!!!
|
Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
I'm gonna hang on to my Touch Pro and I'm due for an upgrade in May so as soon as this things available I'll have it! I kinda wish it had a real keyboard too but I watched the video and I gotta say with such a big screen I think I can manage even with my fat fingers!LOL Sprint, all I've got to say is..... =D> =D> =D> =D>

Have you ever used it? It's awesome compared to WM. Thousands of free and useful apps and runs so much better than WM and on this hardware it will be even better! My Touch Pro will be sitting in a drawer come June. |

And one more thing...WM7 is ugly as sin and has way too many issues right out of the gate. WM could be near EOL now because of android. |
Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
while i agree that WM7S looks like piss, I also will be staying on WM6.5 for as long as i can, this means that im going to TMo... Sure at a later date when WM6.5 isnt supported anymore ill switch to android (screw palm, but not as hard as apple)

in all honesty though I hope we get a winmobile 6.5 4g phone before a win mo 7. doubful but ah well. I may pass on the evo need a keyboard and I love windows mobile |
Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
Touchpal + my diamond (2.8") has been very good. I can't imagine even caring about a hardware keyboard with a 4.3" screen. I've even gotten fairly efficient on my ipod touch virtual keyboard. Pushing down keys is overrated. Tap tap tap.
I'd definitely upgrade plans for this. Just wish we knew pricing and ETA. |
Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
Looks like my Hero is going back to BestBuy and I'll be reactivating my TP2 til this comes out. I knew the announcement was coming about the EVO 4g (aka Supersonic) but was really wanting to get to an Android phone and BestBuy had a good deal over the weekend, so I succumbed to the retail pressures... I got both my and my wife a Hero... lol - Then again, I may wait a bit longer to see what pricing will be like, because if it ends up being more than I can handle, then I'll probably stick with the Hero for now... at least I have 30 days to make up my mind :D
|
Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G
I disagree with that statement. I rarely use my keyboard; however, when the need comes for a long-winded email, the keyboard is used.
