Skyfire Alpha test team
I am getting tired of seeing mindfrost82s' announcements sitting up top all by its self so I am going to join him in the news line with a brief announcement about our PPCGeeks group of Skyfire Alpha testers. As some of you might know I am a member of the Skyfire Alpha test team and I am proud to announce that budney and blasphemous_prime will be joining me. Because of some carefully worded Non Disclosure Agreements that we were asked to sign we are not allowed to discuss what changes Skyfire is making so don’t ask. As alpha testers we know when these new changes are made public and we will alert everyone when new versions go public. As part of the Skyfire Alpha test team we are able to make suggestions on what the next generation of Skyfire will look like I am impressed with the changes in v0.9 as I am sure you Skyfire lovers agree. Just wait till you get your hands on v1.0 you will be impressed.

Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
So, what are the changes. hehe
|
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
The changes we are not allowed to talk about. If we do they will kick us off the alpha team. therefore this wouldn't be the appropriate place to talk about the skyfire alpha beta.

Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
very good news, love skyfire.
|
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
i just hope true vga will be implemented as well as no more re-loading of pages when you switch tasks.
|
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
Yea, the Alpha is showing that they are no longer going to sit back and let others be higher on the list in the browser-wars. It has a lot of great improvements, and I can't wait to see what they will do next. :)

Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
I hope there are good changes into this one ..... |
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
I want to see more settings added to Skyfire, like Opera type settings
|
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
Very cool - I have the LG Incite - default browser is Netfront - poorly integrated .... downloaded latest Skyfire I could get hands on - Brilliant! Can't wait for more..
 P.S. and I know - I need to edit my .sig |
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
cool to know that 1.0 is on the way
i just hope that they get rid of the big bold reading text when browsing forums and messaging sites... i understand the use but it just isnt for a qvga screen and it kills the look of the page besides the fact that most of the page is still in tiny font so you still need to zoom in |
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
Better resolution quality?
|
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
my only question..... will it stop being free when 1.0 is released
|
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
Can't wait. Skyfire is on top of the mobile game. I'm sure they will stay there.

Excellent news for users of this browser.
|
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
I enjoy Skyfire a lot. It works well. Thanks for testing it out and hopefully they will release a new version with new features sooner rather than later. That would be nice.

Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
I always look forward to any improvement to an already great mobile browser :D

i beleive thats a touche good Sir. lol

Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
generally the alpha group (skyfire as a whole, not just here) are smart enough to know what they aren't allowed to talk about and also what they are. since on the skyfire forums it is easily visible who the alpha group is saying that he is a tester isn't really giving anything away. nor is the version number.
in addition, anything that garners more input (I would think) is a good thing; and will lead to a better end product. So if you have any suggestions, definitely voice them. Either here or in the skyfire forums. Gryffin, myself, and the skyfire staff do read ALL of the posts over there so it won't go unnoticed |

Logical step-wise, Skyfire has been inconsistent before in the numbering of builds in the beta. They went from .6 to .8 to .9. Logic will only exist if there is consistency. I see logic in the numbering only after 10+ beta releases, as I've seen these inconsistencies at the beginning in other alpha testing until its clear where the logic is. For alpha groups, Skyfire's is pretty young, so I don't expect to see much logic until more time passes. |
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team

Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
Got the info! Got the Alpha. Thanks to Darren!

Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
actually, instead of PMing Darren, why don't those of you that are in the alpha post your feedback in the skyfire forum. That way your experiences can help the skyfire staff build a better product

Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
I haven't had anything new to add to the bugs that I have already read about.
|
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
yeah, I think at this point most of the bugs have already been covered.
but it's good to see that there's still so much interest after 15 months of testing keep trying to break it, and keep the feature requests up. Apparently there's some more competition out there (referring to the mach 5 browser) |
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
Seams like we are racking up a good number of PPCGeek Alpha testers keep up the great work everyone. This is a perfect example of what makes this community so great. We don't have to contribute but we do just for fun and a little peek in to the future, to be the first to experience what a great company like Skyfire has to offer. :)
|
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
Thanks folks! Can't wait for the finished product. Keep up the great work!
|
Re: Skyfire Alpha test team
