it doesn't peg the cpu unless you have no GPU 2D acceleration. However if you do have that it most likely triggers your gpu's thermal stuff to fire up the cooling fans at high speed. I too hate this background on all forums that run it. However in the end, it's the site admin's decision. Not ours.

running IE with a 2.5 dual core and sli 8700 it as fine yesterday but now its dragging like a dead body to a burial site. very choppy and laggy. somethings been changed
