didnt realize the text part wasnt free. when i first set it up it sent a couple of voicemails the played thru my touch player and it sent them as texts
i get maybe a dozen voicemails a month so im not needing anything that costs or special greetings.
i think its kinda neat

no it does not have a app, u forward ur missed calls to their service so that it overrides your default VM. you can have it send either a txt or email or both to let you know that u have waiting voicemail. That txt/email will have a link to ur youmail account that will instantly allow you to play the voicemail through the browsers media player. Or you can also check them from ur pc

Yea, Google voice just enabled forwarding from your cell to your voice inbox like 2 days ago. Sure there were roundabout ways of doing it before, but this is better. I've enabled that for a while at least. See if I like it.

Yeah, I have a Google Voice account and it's cool, but they don't have an app for Windows mobile. I will never pay Verizon for VVM, and until Google Voice gets an app out for us, Fusion is pretty sweet. I've been using it for a while now, and it works great. My only gripe is that the voicemail plays in windows media player (thru the speakerphone ) because the Fusion App for Windows Mobile doesn't have an integrated audio player.

Cheers.

Re: anybody try Fusion Voicemail app?

All true, all true. I too am waiting for the app for WM for GV. But GV transcribes a VM like You Mail and does what both Fusion and YM does. Also Google got a little smart and realized that most carriers have "call forwarding" already. I had the calls forwarded from my cell number to GV before GV added the option. And while I am waiting for the app to come out, I can visit the GV mobile website on Opera and works great.

But yeah, its a personal preference thing. I mainly like GV because it is like Skype in that you can do VOIP calls from your comp but you get a phone number without having to pay for it. Serves as a nice business number to put on business cards and such. It's like a second cell phone without having to carry a second phone.

Re: anybody try Fusion Voicemail app?

Oh, and I forgot to add. There is an app available for GV. Try OneDialer.

http://www.onedialer.com/Features.aspx

You get VM dled to your phone as well as text and you can listen from your phone. You can dial from your phone's contact book as well.
