Anybody try Waze GPS yet?

I ran across this app somewhere on the net and gave it a go. I haven't tried the turn by turn it offers yet but I thought it was a pretty cool app and for the most part you don't have to start google to get the GPS lock..

Look into it if interested

Sorry I meant to post in Samsung Omnia please move!!!

Re: Anybody try Waze GPS yet?

I've been using it for a few weeks. I like it a lot, the Turn By Turn is ok, not the best, but it's pretty good. I like to traffic/reporting information it provides. Overall, a slightly buggy program (afterall, it's still in Alpha) but very useful.

Re: Anybody try Waze GPS yet?

I use it. Not for directions, but more for getting the little pacman points

Re: Anybody try Waze GPS yet?

I love amaze. It is starts out in Spanish I think, but you can change the settings to English. It is so nice. Waze was glitchy. I had it loaded two different times thinking I'd give it a second chance. I think it threw off my true location. Wasn't sure. GPS seemed way off. If you are in the mood to be in a social "project", I suppose it would be of interest. Why don't you try it out. You can delete it like I did after you find out if it works for you. Goggle is inches away from voice activation. They already have it on their Android versions of Google Maps. To me, that is the future. Bing has it. And for me. I like to stay alive when I'm driving. Voice activation in Bing is what I do practically every time for finding places while I'm driving. But turn by turn goes to Amaze.

Re: Anybody try Waze GPS yet?

I too own amAze and have Igo somewhere but never tried it. Waze did not seem to drain battery as much as amAze but you are correct as far as accuracy. Waze turn by turn routed me way out of the way from destination but it could have been because no one played "Pac Man" on several streets in that area, I do think that it will get better as more people "get involved" tho...

Re: Anybody try Waze GPS yet?

I'm now going back and forth between Waze and Trapster. Really Waze has become more of a game to me then a useful application. I do like the traffic reporting features, but with very few users in my area, there is not much useful information pouring in. Trapster, because of being on the iPhone for so long, has tons of useful information, but I find it takes way too long to get a gps lock.
