Problems with Microsoft My Phone

I am running Adrenylns 6.5 rom and have been for some time. A few days ago Microsoft My Phone started to fail each time it tried to Sync -- message is "failure to connect with My Phone service -- check internet connection". After each failure I cannot access mail nor can I get on the internet without doing a soft reset. I initially connect and get to between 37% and 52% completion before it fails. Any suggestions out there. I have uninstalled and reinstalled using a different user ID -- same problem.
HELP please?

Re: Problems with Microsoft My Phone

Had a similar problem once. I had the phone jacked to my laptop and could sign on to MP, so I unpluged from the laptop and bingo. Same thing happens if I'm plugged in and try to get a GPS lock. Almost never happens. But unplug and bingo , lock!!!
Maybe I got a quirky phone. But if you are jacked-in , try unpluging.....

Re: Problems with Microsoft My Phone

I just looked at My Phone on...my phone, and it said it hasn't made a sync in about 4 days or so.

I did a manual sync and it said there is a new version of the software.
It downloaded, installed, and now it syncs again.

Re: Problems with Microsoft My Phone

The only time I ever need to restore all my data is when I flash to a new ROM

So what I do, is run a sync my my phone, flash, install My Phone, then setup My Phone, then sync again. This restores all the data backed up.

Also, My phone only backs up Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, TxT Messages, IE Favorites, Photos, Videos, Music, Documents, and Storage Cards(music, photos, video, documents)
It doesn't back up email.

Re: Problems with Microsoft My Phone

Just to be safe I always periodically backup with PIMBackup. I use an exchange server at work so i usually just setup my email after a flash and its back to normal.

Re: Problems with Microsoft My Phone

i tried PIM backup but it didnt work. id rather not use exchange bcuz of the annoying password lock. i can get my email online, so its not a loss to not get it on my phone.

so lemme get this straight: My Phone will only work after a flash? im trying to remove my exchange account, only problem is that it takes all my contacts with it. then i try running my phone, and nothing is restored. do i need to do a hard reset for it to work(id rather not) or what?

Re: Problems with Microsoft My Phone

my trick was to turn off the account - uninstall my phone soft reset - reinstall soft reset and then it was happy enough to do its thing.
