I MUST have the Omnia 2...check out the samsung site for a pretty sweet demo
With all the different phones coming out in the relatively near future I've been really thinking about what phone I want to upgrade to and I've always liked the Omnia 2 because it takes everything I love about the Omnia and just makes it better. I just went to the Samsung website for the Omnia 2 and now I'm pretty much decided. Check it out here, it's awesome (do the high bandwidth version):

Wow, this phone is going to be AMAZING. Looks like Samsung has taken a more HTC approach and has just added a bunch more stuff to make the phone UI awesome. I LOVE the task switcher, very Palm Pre. I also really like how they've skinned pretty much everything. Check it out, the live demo is sweet!

Drool...

(I'm sure this has been linked in other posts here, but I just wanted to encourage everyone to check it out anyway.)

TP2 screen is not too shabby at 3.6...if u like that hardware keyboard...thats the ticket...

I'm also now getting interested in the HTC Imagio debuting on Tuesday. It seems to be a TP2 without the hard keyboard. Comes with 6.5. Or to wait for the Omnia 2 and then wait for a 6.5 ROM for it?

Seriously...isn't it great to have so many good options that you can't decide? The TP2 looks really nice too, and if I texted a bunch or did a lot of e-mailing from my phone I would definitely go for it. But I only do a moderate amount of texts/emails and the current keyboard (which is far from perfect) has been doing just fine for me. I'm sure they've improved the responsiveness of the on-screen keyboard for the Omnia 2, so it'll be great.

I spent like an hour last night just looking at that site I linked above. I can't wait for the dang phone to come out!

Is the demo running 6.1 or 6.5?

when you click on the 6.1 style start button on top it takes you to a 6.5 style start menu

The demo is running WM 6.1, but the great thing is that Samsung has added applications that make WM 6.1 very finger friendly. From what I'm seeing in this demo you almost never need to see any WM 6.1 menus, etc. When you click on the start menu it actually opens up a Samsung menu that is finger scrollable. So that fact that the Omnia 2 isn't coming with WM 6.5 isn't a huge concern to me. I'll still anxiously await some custom 6.5 ROMs though

EDIT: Samsung has updated the site and the phone now has WM 6.5
