I love how the Omnia picture shows up in WMDC. As blazingwolf mentions above, it's because the chefs are putting the picture in their cooked ROMS. A nice touch for sure.

In Windows 7 I don't think there needs to be an image on the device. I could be wrong, since I've never used W7, but based on the videos I've seen where they specifically talk about things like mobile phones, they say you plug in the phone and W7 automatically displays the phone's specs, pics, etc. I think it all comes from Windows Update or is built into the OS.
