Verizon Omnia2 Soon

Hey

Just wanted to give a heads-up on what I've heard cause I haven't seen anything in the forum. A friend of mine who works with Verizon says that they got the Omnia2 in last week so that Tech Supp could start having a look at the device. So.....should be real soon!
This post has been thanked 1 times.

Absolutley cannot wait for the Omnia 2. I work for Verizon and was able to confirm the stock in our inventory system. They are there, just wondering when we are going to pull the dam trigger.

Not knowing much about the cooking game, can you fill us in on what will have to happen for you (or someone like you) to release a ROM upgrade for the O2? I look forward to the new hardware yet hesitate to go back to a Verizon ROM. Just curious what goes on behind the scenes. Does it need a "leaked" ROM to get the ball rolling?

Re: Verizon Omnia2 Soon

What sucks is out of the box were gonna hate it. most of us have been running very stable (as stable as VZW raped roms) wimdows mobile 6.5 roms for a while now. were not gonna want to go back to the buttons back on top. I must say i love the rom i am running 23053 its one of the most stable roms that i have ran into. so even though i am excited about the bigger, and upgraded screen. i am disappointed that the sec i buy the phone and pay the extremly high price. i have to speed home to flash the brand new top of the line phone. i just am thankful that we have the guys on here putting out top notch roms.

just my 4 cents

I can't agree more. I'm just wondering if we will indeed me able to speed home to flash or will it be a number of weeks/months before new ROMs can be cooked? Are the ROMs for the O1 usable on an O2 or do the cooks have to start from scratch for the new device?

With the original Omnia it took a leak of a Verizon beta to get ua up and running. I would imagine that we are going to be under similar circumstances with the Omnia 2. Hopefully we can get something sooner than we did with the original Omnia.

If Samsung phones had a bigger following like the HTC phones do than I think it would be done quick. However, we don't.
