GPS Fix (sort of) for those hwo have problems

I have been one of the few who have real problems with the GPS. Google maps took several minutes to lock in satelites and Bing was awful unless I locked in the GPS prior to starting Bing (usuaully showing I was in Poland - the country.)

I re-flashed the CF03 ROM and then flashed BGill's latest ROM and this time, it works. The secret seems to be to add the VZ App Zone and VZ Navigator with each flash.

Google Maps now locks in within seconds. Bing is still iffy, but better.

This isn't a real fix, but it is better than being frustrated with the GPS performance.

How do you separately add the App Zone and VZ Nav?

I loaded it from the website. I might have saved it to my memory card. I will check for you later.

I get this message if i'm using the latest version of Opera, try using the default Opera, and it should download.

*nevermind, now mine is doing that for appzone, it's rubbish anyway

Re: GPS Fix (sort of) for those hwo have problems

I too am kcked off their site saying more phones supported later.
I did find a 4.1.0 version from a titan xz6800 forum. it installed ok and all, but when i start, it says no gps detected and closed. probably an extracted version that was for the xv6800s specific com port, that Omnia does not match?

have you tried using IE? I think VZW's stuff works better with it.

Using Opera works, but here's the cab anyway for those who want it.
