It it is like the HTC task manager but with better customization and features, and more finger friendly.

Taskfacade is cool and eye candy, but it's slow and doesn't work as well as others I've tried.

Thanks for showing me this... I installed with without the showcase_X plugin turned off. So i use HTC manager because it is a little better at setting customizations for closing certain appz. Then i use Showcase as my swipe up task manager... works FAST!!!! better than the omnia task switcher since its only 300k vs like 1mb. AWESOME!

P.S. I love the Showcase_X plugin but it just doesnt work well because i cent set exclusions for hitting X to close an application while still having it show up in the tax manager... I like all the programs to close but i dont want tmail.exe to close when i hit the X... there is no option like in the HTC manager that lets you do like a long press ... its only exit the appz or dont... no alternative.

The reason you put it in the windows directory is because that file is tied into the Swipe up gesture on the screen... that way you dont have to use the main menu button.

I learned something new... thanks has been deposited. mobile shell responds to this as well but other wise its potentially usefull.

Actually, I can't stand this behavior, as I always inadvertently activate it in Adryn's vanilla ROM that I run. I haven't had time to get into the registry to turn it off, but I will next week.

With this ROM, the X/OK button in the top right corner, when held, pops up a task list. It also by default kills apps rather than putting them into the background, so I don't really need a separate task manager.

I think your a little confused phil... I started this thread...

I only mentioned "no one is interested in this" cause i had only one response to my topic in a day. Now there are a ton of responses.

Update:

So i have been using the Showcase task switcher for a a little bit now and I have to say AWESOME!

I dont use it very often but it is useful when want to close out something that is an exception in HTC Taskmanager. That and it actually comes up even faster than the standard omnia taskswitcher. Which is also nice.

Anyone else have any other interesting things they have replaced the default Samsung task switcher with?

BW had Showcase on his last ROM and it was problem-matic, he took it out in v1.4. I too liked it, but it was causing some strange lockups for me.

Im running it without showcase_x in the startup and it runs great for me.

Showcase_X ran well too but show case just doesnt have all the exception options that HTC's has. So i use them to supplement each other.

My vote goes to Adryn's Taskswitcher Killer CAB (it's in the file repo). It Ends the life of that annoying, useless program!

I dislike the swipe/task manager as well. How would I stop it from accessing upon swipe? Reg edit?
