welcome to the community.

if i'm not mistaken, you should be able to go back to verizon and have those contacts sent over to the new phone. call them first before making the trip over there, but they should be able to do it.

as far as programs go, it all depends on what ya want to do with your phone. i do suggest at least a 4gb memory card, if not bigger. (amazon)

for backups, use resco or spb... for eye candy, i use spb mobile shell, but there are others. there's a few custom roms in the community and lots of experience and friendly people to help. happy searching & reading.

Glad you could join us!

Verizon won't be able to pull the contacts from the backup assistant since the phone is not "Get it now" capable. They can however pull the contacts from the old phone. You might have to remind the tech that they have to do it via bluetooth on the omnia end.

To piggy-back on gruven I would reccomend at least a 4GB card too, someone even mentioned that they had found a 16GB card on amazon as well.

I use resco for backups (a backup program is a must since the phone cannot use VZW's backup assistant). I would start with the Tips/Tricks thread.

Happy tweaking!

Re: New omina

I use a 16gb, that I found on amazon. it is enough storage where you don't need to worry about running out.

I used to use TF2d as my shell but, got over it since I was using htc before. I now use SPB MS3.

as far as programs. there are a ton. but alot of programs are developed for htc with the g sensor.

Took it back and got the contacts moved, or took it back and got a different phone?

.....just curious.
