Sprite Backup is not free but may be the best.

This link is really helpful. Only that is was written almost 1 year ago and im sure there have been updates since.

but back to my original question will all backup programs backup: call history and text messages?

I can only confirm on Sprite since I use it. But it does backup text and call history.

+1...I love the MyPhone program, it is really easy and restores this reasonably fast. Can't go wrong with it :thumbleft:

spb backup backs up all of that and everything else the only thing is that its not free.

I use and like Sprite. It is easy to use and even easier to restore
