I Give Up! Ready to throw phone out the window!!!
 

Well. I updated to the "official" ROM. What a piece of %^$%$#%@# ](*,) Opera now works like crap. The keyboard has EVEN more lag, the phone seems slower. Getting a GPS lock is like pulling teeth, and on top of that all??? Battery drain really sucks. I can't even get more than 3-4 hours now. I surfed the web for about 15 mons. Made 1 phone call of 10 mins. Played with GPS lock for a total of 15 mons and now my battery is at the less than 20% range.

Here is what I am running. Can anyone figure out the drain issue?

New CF03 ROM
SPB Mobile Shell 3 (with battery widget turned off)

Thats it. No other whacky apps, no programs running. I applied the dialer hack and the exclating ringtone hack. I was better off on stock ROM and not worried about the damn GPS. Sorry... Very frustrated. I have the blue battery and could at least get a full day to day and a half doing the same things before this upgrade.

Im getting 3 days from my standard batteries.

You leaving BT and Wifi on?

I never use WiFi and I turn off BT when I disconnect my Bluetooth earpiece. The strange thing is the setup I have is similiar to the old setup before the upgrade. I admit battery life was not the best before but it isnoticeably worse now...

3 days?! how in the world do you accomplish that? i get a day out of mine and thats it... if i dont charge at night its almost dead by the time i wake up... no wifi no bluetooth... running cc03 adrynalynes 6.5 rom

I recently upgraded to CF03 and use SPB3 as well. While I don't get 2-3 days, it's definitely better than yours, which would lead me to suspect a hardware issue. The only other thing I can think of is if you have connection issues. I work in a basement that has a terrible signal. I've started turning no flight mode at work, but before I did that my fully charged battery would be drained by 10 am. The phone was constantly trying to get a new connection to the internet or the phone tower and it drained like crazy. Just some data points for you to think about.

I guess what I don't understand... call me stupid... Is when nothing changed but Verizons crackpot update, then why the change in drain? I almost wish I coulg go back to stock ROM. Screw the GPS, everything else worked just fine before this new junk....

Same here, I have one bar by the time I head to bed. My nightly routine includes pluggin my phone to the wall.

And on that point, I need my phone at work. I cannot turn off the phone function because I get calls on occassion. What good is a phone if you can't turn on the phone portion or it will drain your battery??? Makes no sense to me.

There has to be something causing this... Enabling the use GPS feature should not do this as it only looks for a lock when you use a program that accesses it. I know that stupid Active Synch keeps popping up more now, but I am told by the almighty tech support that will not drain my battery. I told them I was going to toss the phone to them and let them see in real life how fast the drain was. I am so tired of little snot nose punks telling me it must be something I am doing... I may be 42, but I have been working in some aspect of technical areas all of my life...
