CC20 Doesn't load properly - Image and logs attached
I was trying to load CC20 with UMDL 2.3. The UMDL gets to Download image 100%. Then it just stops - no error message.
This is the log: PDA Device Found! [Port : 1]EBoot version = 01.35 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PDA Device 1 ready to download! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PDA Device 1 ready to download! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PDA 1 starts downloading... Don't plug it out until the label becomes blue!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EBOOT will be written. PDA will be written. PHONE will be written. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Downloading EBOOT... [Port 1] Checksum Check :: ------------- (Device 1 log) Device name:5&2b986538&0&1 EBoot version=01.35 Start downloading... PDA-Starting updating EBOOT... PDA-Downloading EBOOT... --------------- This is what the phone looks like - a picture of an orange triangle with an exclamation point in it over an outline of a phone. And just one line of the green progress bar. http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/5592/image226bx.jpg Additional info: If i press the little reset button on top then hold down the 2 buttons to format - it will slowly load up and boot into the phone. But obviously something didn't go right. I had been following instructions from here: http://www.modaco.com/content/i910-specifi...m-verizon-i910/ any ideas? |

Re: CC20 Doesn't load properly - Image and logs attached
lol only joking. one thing you might try is downloading cc20 from another source. that one might be corrupt for some reason.

Re: CC20 Doesn't load properly - Image and logs attached
make sure it is a usb 2 port and than make sure the setting are correct on both computer and phone as said in instructions from doctor. Also make sure when you do that that it has downloaded the correct driver. I have vista and it has to detect for both usb modes. THere is one in active sync and also on your phone. Try hard reset first and if alread have done that try a soft reset by pulling battory out while phone is on and unpluged waiting 30 seconds and than us the umdl thing and put the cc20 at the botom of step one in the unified image file. detect detect device plug in and turn on. but the hard reset should fix any problem on the phones end if it is a phone setting. If that still does not work i am guessing it is on the computers end. Could it be a security setting on the computer. Chances are if no one else has had this problem it is somthing you should be able to fix. If you can drop files like a usb port than it should work. oh ya i think it should come up as a mass storage device as your last drive letter at the bottom of my computer and not as a smartphone if setting are correct. I will have to check its been so long.

Re: CC20 Doesn't load properly - Image and logs attached
I can make the phone show up as a drive letter.
when it gets to switch phone to usb i keep getting usb device malfunctioned or is not working properly. I do have usb 2.0 i have tried different ports (and my ports are working). I think if that image on my phone can be identified - maybe thats whats causing all my problems? |
Re: CC20 Doesn't load properly - Image and logs attached
I mentioned this over on Modaco.
Your phone is done. :( Turn it in for a new one. |

Re: CC20 Doesn't load properly - Image and logs attached
Ouch well thanks for the response but thats a risk id rather not take. I wish flashing this was as easy as my diamond every problem ive ever had i was able to fix. Id hate to have to tell my girl that her phone is junk now and has to wait for a replacement she needs it everyday for work.

Re: CC20 Doesn't load properly - Image and logs attached
Any phone can brick at any time from a flash. There is no more risk bricking an Omnia, than a Diamond.
I flash 10-12 times a week. Thats 40 to 48 times a month, and far more than most people will flash in their lifetime, much less this phone. No brick yet. |
Re: CC20 Doesn't load properly - Image and logs attached
Honestly im sure i would be fine but i just get nervous when its not my stuff. I would be alot more confident if i knew what he did wrong to avoid it.

Some people have actually tried to brick their phones and were unsuccessful. They had some issue not associated with flashing and didn't want to go in to VZW with CC20 showing as a ROM. Ted |
Re: CC20 Doesn't load properly - Image and logs attached
OP, did you have your connection settings to Active Sync, or USB mode. A lot of people flashed there's with that setting on Activesync. but some of us at the beginning had it set to USB mode and our flashes went through. Might be worth a shot.

As it turned out, I figured out the flexing of the Call/End buttons while hard resetting and wound up sending the replacement back. Good luck. Ted |
