Android on the Omnia

This is a thread im stealing from another forum but very interesting stuff.

Android on the omnia... I personally am very satisfied with winmo but if I happened to have a spare omnia this would be alot of fun I think.

Not ever planning on switching even if it did release but cool non-the-less.

I cant wait for this, sadly i went from a touch pro to an omnia. But ,i am satisfied with this phone, but winmo does not compliment what this phone has to offer. GO ANDROID!

Why sadly? The omnia is a great device. I have my storm, had a touch pro for a short while, had an i760 that I loved and my Omnia for me out does them all.

OK that was beside the point...

I love winmo and all it has to offer but I love things that are new and interesting. As another user often says "the bleeding edge"

Maybe by the time this is ready I will have upgraded to an omnia 2 or something and I can mess around with my current omnia.

ya i booted it up on my i910 and i have to say it is pretty cool probably just cause it's new. I don't know if i would switch or not cause i don't feel like have to buy apps. But one pro over winmo is the ui and everything is way more finger friendly and usable right off the bat.

Im going to have to hunt down a spare Omnia!!!

I wonder what type of problems I would have if I tried to load this and then go back to winmo. In theory I should be able to flash like normal right cause the boot portion of the device should not be affected by changing the os?

A little scetchy at this point for me to just start playing.

you dont need to do all of that. it only loads on your omnia no flashing required. you finding another omnia would be like having a spare omnia to play music or to browse skyfire.

I was reading some things about how none of the call features and so on are working in android. If the above is true, when we are using android would we not get calls from the winmo side. If android essentially just works like an app than I would run and try it out now.
