Alright...lets all COMPLAIN BITTERLY about virtual keyboards, shall we?

I've tried FingerKeyboard, PCM Keyboard, XT9, I CANNOT find a keyboard that responds as accurately as the G&$*Dam IPhone (My buddy has one, 98% accurate)

I guess the XT9 is the closest, but I can't understand how to set the predictive text up so that it doesn't insert "Cupcake" when I'm typing "Porn Mustache". So I just turn it off & then I have to type EVERYTHING out resulting in prolly 40% mistakes.

I love every other thing about this phone, but DAMN I miss the hardware keyboard.

I like fingerkeyboard but I know you said you didn't like that already. You think it could be the layout you don't like? Maybe try a diff skin.

Ditto.

Use the attached skins (courtesy of Omega Ra). Just download them, dump them on your phone, then paste them in the \Program Files\FingerKeyb\Skins folder and overwrite the old ones when it asks.

Soft reset (or just switch to another keyboard then back to FKB again) and you're on your way to a much roomier FingerKeyboard

Re: Alright...lets all COMPLAIN BITTERLY about virtual keyboards, shall we?

I keep going back to the samsung keypad, not keyboard. It's always a little more accurate and faster than anything else. Although I thought that touchpal was going to give it a run for it's money, ultimatly the keypad is smoother and quicker IMHO

Re: Alright...lets all COMPLAIN BITTERLY about virtual keyboards, shall we?

THanks for the tips....
The problems are:
ENORMOUS thumb pads on my hands.
An incomplete understanding of the XT9's predictive/substitutive text.

I'll try the skins....I might also give the keypad a shot.

I REALLY wanna love this phone...and I do....mostly....

Re: Alright...lets all COMPLAIN BITTERLY about virtual keyboards, shall we?

For me TouchPal is the best keyboard available. I can type incredibly fast and accurate and adjusting the size of the keyboard provides for a large landscape to work with. It cost $14.95, but its well worth the money and you will receive free updates indefinitely.
