Question for Anyone

Has anyone tried to change the WiFi to default on status. Is this a registry tweak I haven't found or is it something imbedded in the OS or hardware. I prefer having the WiFi connected and running. Any thoughts or solutions:drunken:will be much appreciated.

You want the WiFi radio on all the time? You're gonna have to lug around some extra batteries. Adryn took special care to include in some of his ROMs an app which turns it off three minutes after going idle.

If you find a way to do this you could call it "Pocket Warmer" I reckon. I'm not making fun of your desire but just pointing out that the WiFi radio uses a lot of power, especially when you're out of range of a wireless network.

Your phone will be dead every 20 mins. It should be on connect as needed. Not unless you know how to hook up a car battery to your phone.

Re: Question for Anyone

I've had the WiFi on for up to 6 hrs using standard battery. I've been using my phone to map the range and quality of my home wireless router with booster and repeater devices. So, I'm not complaining about battery life, I'm only asking if there is a way to do this.

Okie dokie. A short mortscript placed in the Windows/Startup folder should be able to do it. Unfortunately I'm not a mortscript guru. You'll have to put out a request if you don't know mortscript. Start another thread with a more relevant title. Maybe something like "Help me Turn on WiFi @ Startup".

Good luck. :)
