Sounds like you found a glitch. I wouldn't be surprised if its like that on the stock rom as well.

no it wasnt...in fact on the stock rom as soon as u opened the new text message it was marked as read...and if u replied it would mark them as read as well

Well, as soon as I opena text message with this fix, its marked as read too.

So...

I guess your mileage may vary. I see more reports of success than failure though. I am near certain that the file I am replacing is the only difference in the threaded text messaging between CC20 and stock. If someone with a stock Verizon i910 rom would be so kind as to post their smstrigger.exe file (its in \Windows), we can see if that one works better. This particular one is from the latest beta i900 rom.

Re: Fix for CC20 Threaded SMS Bug

Just had about a 5-6 back-and-forth text message open conversation with my wife. Left the conversation open the entire time and simply replied after she sent me a text. When all said and done and went back to Today screen it showed that I had 4 new text messages. All of which were from my open conversation with my wife. I opened the new messages and hit reply thinking the one click should mark all previous read and it did not.

Anyone having success with this fix?

Just to reiterrate something from another post that I made - this SMS issue is not something specific to the Omnia rom, but to all Windows Mobile roms that use the current build. I had the same exact issue when I upgraded my Touch Diamond. My Treo Pro came out of the box with the glitch as well.

I'm very surprised that Microsoft didn't develop a patch for it, as it must be affecting thousands of people.

Yeah well, here is the thing.

The problem exists in one of two places.

The SYS, or the OEM.

The SYS I use in 6.5 is NOT from CC20. Only the OEM is, as well as part of the XIP. I really doubt the problem is in the XIP.

The only SMS related file I have found in the oem is the smstrigger, and it does work for me. I have had it work for others as well.

So...I don't know.

Let me ask, how many of you with problems are being prompted to restart after installing this?

It prompted me to re-start. Never noticed the problem before and in all honesty, if this is the only issue I'm having w/ your ROM's, I'll take it!!! Is this only the 6.1's having the problem or both the 6.1's adn 6.5's?
