GPS not initializing

Hey everyone. This forum rocks! I took the plunge and flashed the beta rom. I have GPS on and not on 911. I have the GPS in google maps set to com 8 and baud 57600. Google maps seems to be stuck trying to initialize the GPS. Has this happened to anyone else? And if so how do I fix it?

Thanks,

Aaron

The first GPS lock is going to take the longest. Make sure you're outside, away from trees and buildings. Give it a good few minutes and you should have a lock.

And that usually means hitting Retry a few times. I recall getting my first lock surprisingly fast. The next day though when I really needed it out on the road, I wasn't connecting and was frustrated and thought I broke something. I found that having the patience to retry a couple times paid off. Speed in getting a new lock of course depends on how far you are away from where you last locked in.

On Google Maps I have my location settings set on "Managed by Windows" and it locks on satellites just fine. When I put it on "set manually" and select com 8 and 57600 it won't initialize.

Me too.

But after I installed BAFGPSToggle, it stays locked. When GMaps, AmazeGPS or whatever is started, it already has a lock. No waiting.

And no, it doesn't drain the battery. I don't really see a difference whether it's on or off.

Im on GMaps; is there a cab for this or a download? If so, where can I find it?

Are you asking where you can get the cab for GPS Toggle?

If so, it is here: http://www.baf.cc/gpstoggle

I had the same results. After a hard reset or new ROM my first time takes about 3-6 minutes. Be patient and allow windows to manage the GPS on google maps.

I thought BAF GPS Toggle sucked the life right out of my battery.... I wonder why it didn't on yours.
