Re: Help me brick my phone

I say do it...not only because we both have Jester in the SN, but also because I really want to know what happens. I hope it's nothing like putting a CD in the Microwave....If you get caught just say that you have a little kid and he must have done it...that you had no idea, you just went to turn it on and it wouldn't so you brought it in....

Sweet avatar, dude! I'll have to upload my Mad Jester for mine.

Well, microwaving it didn't work. It shorted out the phone circuits, but it still powers on. I'm now flashing the OEM ROM back onto it and then I'll try it again.

Don't worry. being a tech before, I know how the system works.

Maybe. It would have rocked your microwave for sure. Li-ion batteries create hydrogen gas, especially when excited in the EM "bath" of a microwave. A pretty good bang and you probably would have had scraps of what used to be a phone.

Re: Help me brick my phone

The reason I said to drop it in the toilet is because electricity, water, and circuit boards don't get a long. I had an older Verizon phone that I dropped in a swimming pool (okay, my college roommates threw me into a swimming pool), and it shorted out. The phone never turned back on. I'm not an engineer, so I don't know if they could tell if it was from water damage or not. All I know the phone was under warranty, and it was replaced for free. If I remember correctly, I took it to the Verizon store and the associate fiddled with it, and gave me a new replacement. I didn't tell the Verizon guy it got soaked. I told him it just stopped working.
