Just switched from an Alltel TP to the Omnia and just have a couple of questions?

First off let me start by saying what a phone! Alot more responsive than my TP. I thought I would miss the h/w keyboard and so far, not at all.

So far my biggest complaint is the task manager. I was hoping that upgrading to the latest stock rom would fix this, however it has not. What I'm talking about is the icon in the corner of the start menu that will allow you to shut down programs. It also gave you the ability to close programs by pressing "X". I'm pretty sure that is HTC, but didn't know if anyone has been able to get that task manager working on a stock rom and if so where can I find a link?

My other question: Where can I find a program similar to HTC's MP3 Trimmer? That was a sweet program that would allow you turn any MP3 into a ringtone.

Also does anyone know how I can change my PRL other than dialing *228? I would like to update my own PRL.

If anyone else has any other tweaks or other programs that I should have please drop me a line. I won't be flashing to custom ROM until I've had a chance to play with the stock. My TP I flashed pretty much twice a week, and hopefully with this stock ROM I won't have to, especially now that they have unlocked the GPS.

I know you can add the HTC Task Manager....Adryn has it built into his cooked roms...I'm sure you can find the cab around here somewhere. Don't know about the trimmer or the PRL though.

Yeah all the posts I've seen seem to say that they do not work after awhile... So I was just wondering if anyone here has it gotten it to work correctly on a stock rom.

Another question... Is there a way to keep the dialer but switch to a slide to answer?

you can either use slide to unlock found here: http://s2u2.ac-s2.com/

or youse lock on wake up and use the stock Windows slide to answer calls if you use a cooked 6.5 rom

I would like to make these customizations, but still keep a stock rom for now.

If you have verizon service and a verizon phone, why would you want to manually load the prl? Doesn't make sense

Because for some I don't get revA at home. If I change the PRL to a broadband PRL I should get revA. At least it worked with Alltel.

you need to either call vzw tech and have them send you a ota hybrid prl, or alltel tech since vzw techs won't be able to see your info in the switch yet
