The original file in the \Windows folder has the attributes of hidden, system and read-only so I removed that and updated the zip file in the post above. Download the new zip and hopefully it fixes your problem.

damnit i replaced the file and still nothing even after a soft reset guess ill have to hard reset when i can be bothered or just wait for the new vzw update.

No idea to be honest, I downloaded some of the ones which were not labeled DXIA5 for when I do a ROM flash and want some things installed, lol

Ok so i have flash my phone to the new unoffical VZW i910 ROM, and smart reader worked. But 2 days l8r all of a sudden it doesnt work again, anyone know a way of fixing this really annoying problem. cos im out of ideas lol.

I'm still on the official rom and it worked briefly too (recently did a hard reset). I think there is some program that interferes with it, but I have no idea what! I have wayyy too much installed.

lol i dont have to much installed but i didnt wipe out the VZW Nav, Apps and Shozu. But yeah still dont work im not sure why its annoying, is there another OCR program for the Omnia?
