Question Check Email Timing

Now I know this will sound a little absurd to some of you nuts that have to have your battery last for days, but is there any way currently to have your email checked every minute? the smallest I see is 5 min.

The reason why is b/c i don't want to pay the extra $20 a month for unlimited texting, and with how much my girlfriend texts me I would need it. What I have now is her just texting back and forth with me through my email, which works great, just a little slow.

And then on top of that, not to be burdensome, disconnect from the internet after it has sent and recieved?

Im sure the latter cant be done, but I know a lot of you are phone geniuses, and where there's a will there's a way, right?

Thanks in advance for any of your help guys.

Re: Check Email Timing

Have you looked into IM?

Most of the IM applications can be left running in the background and alert you when an IM is received.

Those go back and forth as fast as you can type.

If you want to stick with email, there are some that support PUSH for free.

For example, if you install "Windows Live for Mobile", you can do "push" with your hotmail account for free. emails will arrive instantly. (Windows live also includes MSN messenger, so that would give you two options in the same program)

Nope. IM'ing is just like using the internet.

Re: Check Email Timing

If you use a 3rd party IM client, how would they know you are IM'ing? Any 3rd party IM client will use your data connection to send the message. They wouldn't have any way to discern what type of application is accessing the internet.

Exactly.

And thanks guys. I thought of push email not to long ago. I would go with the IM plan but she doesn't have data, and with her provider the only way to get IM is through a data plan.

If anyone has/knows of any good free push email providers for the omnia, or WM in general, this would be great to know, thanks again guys.

Not sure if you are asking for other options, or missed my post, so I reposted just in case.

Yea, I caught yours, the problem is that my email is at a private domain, and live will only download from other pop3 clients if you pay them.
