Memory card and text complaints

Hi all,

I am a new poster to this forum, but have been here a while looking at everything you all have done as a community for PDA's, and I value the information I have found here.

I decided it was time for me to make my first post and see if you all can help me out.

I have two issues with my new Omnia i910 from VZW.

First issue, After I put my memory card in I noticed a LOT of heat coming from that area. So much that it actually buns my finger a bit! Has anyone else ran into this issue at all? If so, does anyone know what causes this?

Second Issue, After reading on here, I decided that I wanted to install Pockshield onmy device, I instaleld it and noticed that when it is installed, I am not able to get to the web becuase the lock kicks in, and shuts off my antenna. For me if I wanted to use the web, I have to shut off pocketshield, and then turn it back on when I am done. Does anyknow if that is a setting that I can change, or is this a known issue? I checked in the site, however I didnt seen mention of my particular problem.

Third issue, this isnt really an issue, but more a question. I have really big hands, and noticed that I have a hard time sending SMS from my phone, one thing I thought would be cool is a mod that would make the keyboard partly transparent so that if you are typing an SMS is Landscape or Portrait for that matter, you would be able to see more of the conversation screen underneath so you could see what you are writing.

For me this would be a great thing becuuse i often have typos because of my larger fingers.

Does any know if an app like this is out or in devolpment?

Thanks in advance for all input, it is greatly appreciated!

thanks,

caelin~

Re: PS, try the latest version. It might address your issue. I've had some weird happenings with 2.6.21. .22 seems better.

Edit: They yanked .22.

Thanks for the link, I went and installed that one, and it seems to be working great! I guess I had the newer one or something.

Do you have any ideas about the other things that I had written about in my first message? In regards to the heat coming from the Micro SD, as well as a semi transparent keyboard for viewing the chat log underneath?

thanks,

caelin~

Re: Memory card and text complaints

The heat is not normal.

As for the keyboard, not aware of anything, but you can map <input panel> to a hard key and simply shut off the keyboard while reading.

Adrynalyne,

Thanks for the information, I will take the phone into a VZW store, to see what they have to say. As for the keyboard mapping, thanks for the suggestion, I will check that out.

In another thread you helped a guy with a cab that shut off his BB after either 1 minute or 3 minutes, I wanted to let you know that I downloaded that .cab file and installed it, however my BB still stays on, so I am now checking my email manually, rather than every 5-10 minutes, any other ideas on how to get the BB to shut off?

thanks,

caelin~
