Shutting off at random?

So this has happened to me twice in 2 weeks. The omnia just turns off for no reason. Power button doesnt do anything...I have to pull the battery out to get it to boot up. I read about putting paper by the battery, but there is no play on it so the connectors are touching it.

Thanks!

Re: Shutting off at random?

It is locking up when asleep.

What do you have running in the background, including startup items?

Only things I use on the phone are
Txt msgs
Activsync
Opera
Media album maybe if it stays open when sending an mms
Camera(maybe this I used it right before)

No 3rd party items that it didnt come with, using the samsung homescreen also...not that widget garbage though since you cant lock them in place heh.

Re: Shutting off at random?

I'm having a similar problem: randomly turns itself off and has to be manually restarted. Very few 3rd party apps and I've uninstalled SPB Shell. Any ideas?

Re: Shutting off at random?

This is a problem that has been happening in all the 6.5 roms. I personally think it has something to do with the 6.5 lock screen. I'm thinking about taking it out.

Explain this answer to me. I have not been experiencing this issue on any of my ROMs. With or without the lock.

Most times it is the result of a 3rd party program that has been installed and not working correctly. Another possible cause that I have seen is with the My Storage area becoming corrupt. I'm not sure why this would have an affect but have noted many anecdotal comments that say that it has helped.

Re: Shutting off at random?

I've had this problem for a while now and after I don't enable the "power saving mode" in battery settings, but leave the "turn off device" after 3 minutes on my phone will stay on indefinitely.

On the the original bj28 rom the issue was duplicated by adjusting the batt settings, so it has been a bug all along. Using S2U2 on that original rom duplicated the issue without any changes to batt settings as well. Therefore, I'm thinking it possibly could be just an issue with the device batt settings when an x variable comes into play due to it's been seen on every rom that I've been on. Though I have not flashed to any of your roms mr wolf, so I can't speak for it
