Keypad and Password fields

Carrier: Verizon Wireless
Device: Samsung Omnia i910
ROM Version: S:i910.10 V.BJ28.20276

I've noticed that in some text boxes (especially password boxes), the Samsung Keypad won't let you use the 'T' (text) option and defaults to '123' (numbers). 'T' is grayed out. I prefer the Keypad in portrait mode (Samsung Keyboard is just too narrow in Portrait).

A bit of an annoyance, can anyone else confirm? Is there a fix?

I had the exact same problem, but there is a solution...

Change all your passwords to numbers only!!!

Here's one example. I'll start creating a running list when I see this and add to this list:

Opera: http://reader.google.com/ and click inside password field. try to use Samsung keypad. (same thing happens in PIE).

Yea the problem happens with the samsung keypad, and phonepad...I will post this on a couple other forums and see what they come up with....meanwhile my only suggestion is to use the samsung keyboard to key in ur passwords,

Re: Keypad and Password fields

I am out of ideas. The keyboard driver for the tegic keyboard that Samsung supplied with the Omnia is wonky, for lack of better words.

Re: Keypad and Password fields

Another place that does this: SPB Mobile Shell in the 'Select City' dialog for weather. ugh! The Samsung Keypad is awful.

Anyone recommend any free (or pay if necessary) alternative soft keyboards to replace samsung's keypad (with emphasis on touch...not stylus).

While I'm ranting... why couldn't they have put the '.' (period) on the front page with one of the buttons that only has a single letter so I wouldn't have to go to '123' so often when typing a URL.

I have a cab for TouchPal...I'm gonna test it and see if it plays nice with the Omnia...I don't think its free however...
