Ringtone Help!!!

I have had my I900 since just before xmas, and love it,:) except 1 thing,:disgust: for the second time now my ringtones have gone a bit weird, i can go to the settings to try and change it but once i have selected the tone i want when i go to exit ( tapping X or ok) nothing happens and i cant get rid of the ringtone select screen,](*,) it just resets its self to the orignal, its realy doing my head in now as i have to put up with what ever ringtone the phones wants to play lol, i had this prob once before and had to format the phone (advice from samsung ) any ideas would be hugely appreciated, as would really like to not have to reformat the phone again, it will take ages to get it back to how it is, is there a way of setting the ringtone from the registery?? so i dont have to use the stupid menu!!

Thanks in advance

well this is an issue I've never come across but I know there are a couple ways to select a ringtone...are u trying to assign a default ringer or one specific to one of ur contacts... also is it an MP3, midi, or wav...? and how big is the file and where is it located on ur phone?

like I have PhotoContacts Pro5 and that takes care of all my ringtones, but before that I open the dial pad, clicked menu/options and selected my default ringtone there...sometimes that sounds and notifications window doesn't act right...

also u can go to ur media album navigate to where ur ringtones are highlight the one u want and click menu/set as/ringtone...

I don't know how similar our phones are but I hope one of these helps...

thanks for your answer so quick, i just want to assign one of the default tones to ring for everything, nothing special, but for some reason i cant use the settings menu to do it because it just dosn't work, will try what you have said so far and let you know.

Thank you
