I got advanced mechanic working and changed the association, and still no go, looks like its going to have to be a format. NOT HAPPY

Ouch, I hope a reset solves your issue, but after you do it, keep a close eye on the ringer on your Omnia as you install and tweak things. I am curious as to if it happens again, and if you watch as you do things, you may be able to pin-down a problematic app, or a conflict of apps and help not only yourself, but others that may fall into this category!!!
