ICS / Internet Sharing Connection

Anyone gotten the ICS to work on the Omnia? It worked easily on the Touch Pro, I can't seem to get Omnia working.

On Touch Pro, I installed the ICS cabs and WMWIFIROUTER, worked beautifully.

On Omnia, WMWIFIROUTER worked fine. ICS having issue working for some odd reason.

ICS is working on the Omnia, check out this page on Modaco, http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-o...verizon-omnia/

it is a pretty cool fix and turns the omnia into a wifi router. You can also just use the cabled solution in this fix as well.

Re: ICS / Internet Sharing Connection

do I need to make any reg changes to make sure Verizon doesn't know I'm tethering with WMWifirouter ver 1.10?
Also after turning WIFI on and opening WMWifirouter it says "FATAL ERROR, Connection Sharing Not Found!" What am I missing?

Re: ICS / Internet Sharing Connection

You should probably post these questions on that thread but I think the issue was the version you're using. I remember something about having to use version .91 or something like that. I just tether with the USB cable anyway.

Re: ICS / Internet Sharing Connection

quick tip: one thing the modoco thread that is easy to miss is that you need to set up a new, ad-hoc connection for wifirouter to work as intended. you can name it ( the new connection ) whatever you like, but set the location to "work" and not "internet" in the connection setups. Once you do that, run the wifirouter application from the program menus and within a few moments you'll have a useable wireless signal for your other devices to latch on to.

Very good info. I personally don't see why anyone would use this. I tether all the time but I use my USB cable so that I don't kill my battery!!! Works GREAT!!!! Besides, if I have my phone, and my laptop, then I have the USB cable too.
