[Verizon] Has Anyone Hacked the secdialer.dll to disable the touchscreen lock?
Posting this here, as the other site I asked on told me to search, and linked me the same thread I talked about, LOL.
Anyways, I tried my hand at it, following some instructions here (http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-o...lock-in-calls/), and my eyes crossed trying to find the text I needed to edit. Has anyone been able to do this? |

The hex editing part is easy, although I have questions about multiple instances of the target string "Touchlock" that occur in places with different capitalization "Touchlock" versus "TouchLock" and a place with "TouchLockStatusNotification", "TouchLockStatusNotifyCallback" and "TouchLocked" as well as what looks like a function call "TouchLock(%d)"
Beyond that, I couldn't seem to successfully re-sign the DLL and got unsigned warnings at startup and the WM6 default dialer took over. |

Also, the problem I had with the patched non-Verizon DLL is that the icons disappear, not a huge deal.. but if you get into Emergency call mode (however that happens) the dialog to exit that mode doesn't show in the non-Verizon patched dialer.

The icons disapearing is why I didn't do this hack, I didn't like the trade-off. I guess if you don't mind losing the icons, it can work out for ya!! Good luck!

Re: [Verizon] Has Anyone Hacked the secdialer.dll to disable the touchscreen lock?
Well I downloaded and installed the SECDialer.dll patch. I had a lot of problems with Total Commander. My habit when changing a file like this is to rename the file to something like SECDialerOld.dll and then copy in the new file. If I need to change back I just delete the new file, rename the other file back I nothing lost. Well I tried and TC will change the read only property-or so it appeared but the rename would not work. So I copied out the file to my desktop thinking to rename it later, and overwrote the Samsung dialler .dll with the patch. OOPS! Now the original .dll is nowhere to be found and I am stuck with this dialer. I wish I could get the old MITS dialer skin I had on my i760 but I would settle for now for just getting the Samsung dialer back. Anyone have the original .dll you could post? Or could I get it back with a registry edit? (Doubtful since I replaced the .dll file. )

You know that secdialer.dll is a ROM file, right? Simply delete the file in \Windows, and it will return to its original version. When you overwrite, it merely copies on top of it, so to speak. You can't just simply overwrite a ROM file, even though it appears you do.
