Re: Samsung Omnia reviews.
OMG!!!
My family hates me. I used to hang out with my 6700 for hours. And you know how much of a brick that was. Omnia? days upon days where it doesn't leave my side. Man's best friend has just been upped. I have Manila 2d touch-flo going. Love it. May consider going back to widget when a.) additional widgets of my choosing may be added to home list. b.) widgets can be locked. Still the touch-flo gets me where I want to go so fast. The phone is so fast. You can set the sensitivity of the rotation, which at first is set to "very sensitive". I set mine to the least sensitive, so when I choose to want landscape I tip the phone vertical and then twist. This keeps it where I want it for the most part. OK. you have to get Kinoma Play. And yes pay for the full version. COMPLETE media package that will blow you away. Search for it to learn. Omina volume is amazing. I've even turned it down during a call. Opera browser amazing. touch screen. From my 6700 days, I have a bunch of my favs that are ppc/pda/wap sites made just for the small screen. When I Google a site I'll include "mobile" with the search. Many times there is a special site just for your phone. also check out pda-portal.com lists phone size sites. Opera needs to get rid of the visual map in the upper left while finger scrolling. It gets in the way for rapid site viewing. Text input. I doubted it very much. I was wrong. OK, for those who thumb on keypad maybe not as fast. But I found that my thumbs selected the key I wanted 90% of the time. As mentioned before I'm sure. The screen could be a tad more sensitive to taps. Strokes seem fine. It almost works better with the soft part of your finger rather than a fingernail. Could be designed that way? Oh Jeez almost forgot my best love. The VIDEO. I love taking "casual" video of stuff and replay it on same device. Just as emotional reminders. Camera also is real nice. Memory SUCKS. you've got 8 gig in "my storage" yes. But what you don't realize is that all the exe. files still load up on the device memory. I don't have much left. But I have LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTs of junk in there. Don't be afraid of loading cab files on this device. cab files can be removed. they are not the same as ROM replacement. My touch-flo is a cab. There are threads going after ROMs. If it is successful that would be a way to go due to the fact that it saves a lot of memory. If you want to have a way better experience that those I-phone cool dudes. Get into THIS phone. Windows Mobile is so much better for getting your phone the way YOU want it. Being on ppcgeeks most of you know that already. But I mention it because the Omnia, I feel supports all of the exciting aspects of owning a top notch phone primarily and then add virtually unlimited programs that you can do anything with. Live Search, Gmaps, xda stuff, etc. Its cool for ppl who like to tinker. Get Total Commander and you are unstoppable. I even have XM radio streaming into earbuds right now while I'm writing this. Yes, I'm in love again. Convince me otherwise. p.s. I know GPS, but hey they are cracking that right? |

Re: Samsung Omnia reviews.
Yes, if they follow-through on this promise, our Omnia's (along with the other devices) will have GPS back! I think VZW got quite a lot of negative feedback about it!! I think if they have enough confidence in their software they SHOULD give us a choice....I am sure they will still have a lot of takers for their nav software!!!!
P.S. thanks for posting that URL again, I was looking for it for another thread!! Last edited by syrguy1969; 12-31-2008 at 02:27 PM. |
