Another newbie to Omnia II , Now What??

Ok, I got this really great newfangled phone as my upgrade and now I don't know what to do with it. I've read about flashing roms and hacking the phone but I'll be honest with you in that I'm a little afraid of doing that and turning it into a brick. I have NO experience with roms or flashing so if anyone can tell me exactly what the difference is I'd appreciate it.

One thing I'm really trying to do is get it to play some old cartoons I found on the internet to show my son but it says I need a flash player (I'm guessing that's not the same as flashing the phone) that I don't have. Plus when I tried to load it from the site it sent me to it said it wasn't compatible with my system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
