New to OmniaII

Just switched from Touch Diamond, Still making my way with this Bell Omnia II.
Did transfer my contacts from TD to computer to Omnia, using the backup prog I had on TD. Figured it would work because both phones are WM.

My question: which progs will or will not work? Advanced Config tool? Probably for configuring HTC phones?

Is there a way of unlocking this Bell phone? Are there custom ROMS?
