usb tethering?

Has anyone got USB tethering working on 2.1, if so please let me know what app and how. When i try the old verison of pdanet ive been using it says trial has expired. thanks

Both pdanet and easytether work for me but both are paid apps, you have to buy the full version to use https sites.

i noticed they changed the 1.5 trick where we can choose 1x and reconnect the internet along with internet sharing and we get the tether working.... im sure there has to be another way to connect without root or programs?
