Swype Keyboard

somebody running the sprint update 2.1, got swype working? before was working fine to me, but i upgrade it and installed swype but is not working.

nevermind, i uninstall and install again and is working now.

ShapeWriter is another swiping keyboard... possibly a little better, word suggestions are at the top of the keyboard instead of covering the screen. the little tutorial doesn't pop up on you... etc etc

Yep, ShapeWriter just stole my heart...I was in depression after I got my 2.1 upgrade and couldn't have my Swype keyboard. I'm back!! Thanks for the info!!

i was running caulkins rom and had issues so i had to go to stock rom, but i extracted the apk from his rom and it works great on my moment running 2.1

When I upgraded to 2.1 I had no problems with swype installing... I just switched because I didn't wanna have to do it later

So where can I find this shape writer; is it only a Samsung app, or has it been hacked or ported or whatever you want to call it to all Droids, I'm willing to buy swype but now that I see there's apps that are possibly better, I'm tempted to see/use it.

shapewriter is in the market. and no, it's for any android phone.

Personally I like the fact that shapewriter lets you choose which word you possibly meant to type right above the keyboard instead if covering your text area. also for those one word texts, with swype I found myself sending blank shit (because you think you correctly typed a word, but swype wants you to choose a word, and it won't type the word unless you do) with shapewriter this doesn't happen, it always types out the word first.

Also, you can touch a word in your text field and change it, where in swype you had to delete the word and try again.

to add words, just type the word and click add....

all in all, pretty good alt. to actually paying for swype.

I love Shapewriter! However, if you keep Swype and download Shapewriter, then Swype will work. Swype somehow lost its dictionary on mine, so it wasn't reading any of my swipes... once I installed Shapewriter, then Swype read its dictionaries and began to work again... of course I loved shapwriter so much, I haven't switched back to Swype.

I also found slideit keyboard... I think Swype and Slideit read the words your trying to spell easier, slideit seems to be the best parts of both, but for 5.99..... they have a lite version to try
