Good. We needed a guniea pig for AKU 2.6. Can you also confirm sending MMS works? If not let us know what errors you are getting...

I was thinking of asking the same but he would have to send a pic on the phone since theres no camera :P and pzzt u can send me the mms if u like to test it ;)

just pick a pic from any folder and mms it to me! :)

welp i tried it and got the out of memory error. and before you ask yes i did the install properly. i got the same error with the treo 700wx.

brings me to the conclusion maybe the hermes users have something others don't....maybe...pat wanna do a rom dump 4 me?

It seems any 2.3 device works properly. Something in the OS missing.

pzzt- you don't NEED A CAMERA to send a picture, you need a camera t TAKE a picture. I had the 730 for 6 months, I'm well aware of what it has and doesn't have

well it seems an aku 2.6 device doesnt work properly as i wasnt able to send a pic mail to wideawake it gave me an out of memory error and yes i did do the install properly

hmm, Pat updated a 8525 to AKU2.6 and guess what? It *can* send mms without getting the OOM error. Now we need to figure out why the i830w can't do it. It's clear now it's not the AKU level. Could it be a network configuration difference or possibly a missing service? I don't think it's hardware related.

Pat, any ideas? Maybe we could get a list of services, device drivers and network configurations of the two devices and compare. The TaskMgr at xda can list the services and device drivers.

A registry dump of each device would be nice to compare too.

Sure, not a problem at all. Two things:

1. PM me the o=info as to how to do a reg dump. I did it once before but forgot how, I know it was simple.

2. I went out and bought a t750, so my testing will be limited on the 8525. I will do as much as is needed to get this figured out however. Just will be slow-moving since I won't have the phone on me during the day.




I will get the rom for u in a jiffy!

Over on xda 2 days ago, I found a Cingular ROM for my phone that was OLDER, but was made with AKU 2.6. Now I'm a little nervous, because they came out with a new ROM TWO WEEKS later in which they went back to AKU 2.3.

Nobody on xda knew why they decided to go back to 2.3 so fast, a few people told me that "I heard there were problems" but didn't know what they were. I decided to be a guinea pig and actually thought the ROM is great. The device is fast and stable, and I had no issues. That being said, I havent seen a difference between 2.3 and 2.6 yet...

So how is the app working for you? Any issues OTHER THAN the MMS?

I got an issue i dont know whats causing it. seems Im getting an error stating cprog is not a valid pocket pc application thats when I press the green phone key on the phone.

Do you get the same error when you try and access PHONE through the start menu?

Then its not the Palm app that caused it, sounds like the phone shorcut (cprog.exe) got corrupted. First I've heard of that. How do you dial?

never heard of that I don't get it and u use threaded app and today dialer

I did find that if I didnt do the file copy as i had to with the treo it all works and the phone feature still works.
dont know if anyone else has noticed that but I can use sms threading without doing the file copy.

Yes, no copying needed on any device with AKU 2.3 or higher.

I have an AKU 2.6 device (same aku as yours) and I have zero mms problems. I think it can work

Yeah the out-of-memory is what the 700w's get. It's either a CDMA (my phone is GSM) problem or your settings are incorrect.

Hey guys. A bit new to the scene, but here's my question. I have an I830 that says it is running Windows Mobile 2003 SE 15159.2.6.4

I just recently got ahold of the Beta 4 file, but when I go to run the program it says that it is not a valid PPC app. Actually, after copying the files into my Windows directory my phone was so screwed up I had to restore it.

Any idea? I've noticed that everyone refers to installing the Beta 4 on WM5. Perhaps this is the problem. Any insight would be appreciated.

I don't know if the app was ever tested ot worked for WM2003SE. It came from the Treo 750v running WM5 so that may be why...

I thought the IP-830W ran WM5... weird.
