Today Screen Layout

Hi all - I picked up an intrepid to replace an Ace last week and nearly took it back the next day. But I'm getting used to it and finding a lot of advantages, particularly battery life.

One of my two biggest concerns are bluetooth turning itself off, and thanks to you all I see there's a hack for that. The second is the Today screen. On WM6.2 I could see all of my messaging stats at once on the dinky screen, but with WM6.5 I have to scroll to see if I have new messages. I know Spb is an alternative that a lot of people like, but unfortunately the UI doesn't work for me - just a personal preference.

Any recommendations on tweaking the Today screen layout to get more condensed view of messaging?
