Not really. I don't really text that much. It still doesn't seem that useful, IMO. I've used larger devices for research while waling through forests. A phone just isn't going to take up that much of your field of vision. If you don't notice a hazard coming up due to your attention being overly focused on your work, you are not going to notice on the screen either.
Still, useless doesn't mean worthless. If a person like it, that is good enough.
