It's obvious the carriers have already gotten their hands on WM 6.5. There wouldn't be a reason for them not to release it on the 6th with all these new devices that are being launched on the 6th with 6.5. That would really suck if it's only a microsoft launch. Good news is cmonex seems to have finished the hard-spl and just needs to tweak some things because of the new radio so worst case scenario we will have 6.5 real soon :mrgreen:

i have also read that msoft is pushing the "synchronized" launch of 6.5. and with the imagio shipping on the 6th with 6.5 i think it only strengthens the hope that verizon will release the rom on the 6th as well, just as the op says.

and like magoo_215 said, when the tp2's hit the stores they will be loaded with 6.5...so even more chance will get it on the 6th.

i am stoked for it, but also more stoked for the hardspl. i'd love to see both on the same day! i am not sure what i would do, probably just sit motionless in aw...

aint no way im gonna sit and go through all the bs from a cooked rom... The cooks do great jobs but Im just not in the mood to fix, reflash, changelog, blah blah, I wanna stay OS stock on this bad boy unless 6.5 stock blows, untill then Im waiting for the real deal.

I'm with you on that. As much fun as the cooked ROM's are, there always seem to be distinct bugs in them that make them more trouble than they are worth for me personally. No insult to the chef's, but that's just been my experience. The TP1 definitely had some performance improvements with the cooked ROM's, but the TP2 stock ROM has performed well for me, so I'm assuming the stock 6.5 will too.

I'm going to throw my 2 cents in on this...I am hoping myself for the update on the 6th, but more for this...When VZW released the R1 update for the Omnia 1 awhile back, it unlocked the phone allowing users to flash custom roms. I am wondering, myself, if that may hold the same for the VZW TP2. Just my anxious thoughts.

I doubt Sprint will be releasing an update to the Touch Pro2 on the 6th.

But hopefully soon after.

There are also a couple of issues between the tf3d and WM6.5. I know there are issues with the enhanced menu features. This issue could of been fixed upon the release of TP2, but we will soon find out.

well you and your friend a couple of post down are in that boat alone. I will definitely be flashing a custom rom. I will definitely be trying the stock 6.5 rom as well though. I don't know what roms you used on your original TP but i used JD's and i had a few issues but not many over the course of time, but the last couple of roms i had flashed were flawless. I like cooks who create clean roms and let you install apps to your liking. The roms that have all that trouble are the ones that are loaded with program i don't even use and start acting all weird freezing and what not
