Thank you. But do you think it will still be possible to download the actual file from their website? (old school)

From the microsoft source, the it seems that the improvement is not that much....

Why should i be exited ? because of the online backup ? because of the app market ? because of what else .....??? i'm sorry i don't see .....

Even for the 6.5 interface i find the tf3d 'desktop' interface with the coming schedule much cool

:)

well get out of my thread then :angry7:..As i stated in the very first post, thread is for those of us that are excited for the release and want to talk about how the carrier will release the upgrade. I'm tired of people coming in here talking about how they aren't excited and how it's not that much of an upgrade. Start your own thread and speak that bs. It is a wonderful upgrade and me and alot of other people can't wait so take that negative energy somewhere else. you probably don't even have a TP2

I'm not saying it won't happen, but it is pretty unlikely. I sure hope it does. Reading some of the posts in this thread it sounds like there are a number of people who are going to be disappointed if the upgrade isn't available for their device on the 6th.

There have been many upgrades over the years for Windows Mobile and Pocket PCs. Many of them much bigger and more anticipated then this one, with MS releasing the finished product to its partners well in advance, and everytime it has been many weeks before carriers release and update.

Again, I hope it's different this time. For those expecting it as a given, it is not, and for those hoping for it, there's nothing wrong in hoping, just don't be disappointed or frustrated if it doesn't happen...it has never happened that way in the past.

Let's see what Tuesday brings.

Dave

please tell me what upgrade to the OS has been more significant than 6.5??? This is by far there biggest upgrade to there mobile operating system. Go start your ow thread with all the negativity. This thread is for those of us excited about it

Naysayers. Blah.

Did Microsoft make the launch of 6.1 a global affair? No. That's why I think this time we really should/might see the update on the 6th. Conflipper at one point said (if I remember correctly) that he had the 6.5 Sprint ROM amongst all of the other build. I also think that the reason the TP2 isn't in stores yet is because they want to release it to stores with 6.5.

Maybe these are things I made up in my head. My pipe dreams. But I am usually excited for Christmas morning as well and very rarely get any good or exciting gifts.

I am excited for Tuesday! I will be sad if there is no update ... then I guess I will move on.

I ran 6.5 for months in my TouchPro's (NFSFAN ROM)

I was sure that I would hate going back to 6.1 in the TP2, but that has not turned out to be the case really. They did a wonderful job with 6.1 in the TP IMHO.

That being said, I will eagerly switch back to 6.5 in my TP2 as soon as it's available in a stable ROM.

Woooohh...dude slowdown. I'm excited about WM6.5 as well. I used it on my Diamond for several months. When I went to the TP2 I was really disappointed in loosing WM6.5. I for one quite like the new interface on 6.5. Internet Explorer is better as well. Not to mention under the hood improvements.

As for more anticipated launches....WM5 had lots of prelaunch hype, just to mention one.

I only said what I did because there seemed to a few people thinking it was a done deal that WM6.5 would be available for their device on Tuesday, when that has not been the MO for previous launches....ever. Like I said before, I hope I'm wrong and everyone gets it on Tuesday.

Nobody has said it will be available on tuesday for sure. We have said that we hope it will be and gave reasons why. Thats what this thread is about. With version releasing the Imagio on tuesday with 6.5 and sprint 6.5 roms being leaked. Why would they not release them on the 6th with all the hype???

Look, I'm not going to get into a heated debate with you over this. It wouldn't be right. Hopefully it will be available right away. I sure hope so. But...as for reasons why it won't: You mentioned one, they will be releasing new devices, and be busy supporting them. It would be a great way to overload their support channels by releasing everything at the same time. By the same token, their development and testing people will have been very busy putting the final touches on these new devices. They could very well be overtaxing them to do it all at once. There are also many good marketing reasons for spreading things out. HTC themselves would be totally overwhelmed trying to get all this done for all their carriers for the same day. They would be totally overrun. Their servers would be taxed to the hilt trying to feed everyone of their carriers upgrades launched at the same time.....and so on. But, I will say it once again....I hope everyone gets their upgrade on Tuesday.

Dave
