no sorry no rule on the size.. the rom gets "compressed" so it varies by what is being put in.

IE if you put a bunch of text files in from you're oem yer gonna get a lot more total size than if you load wave files that dont compress well at all.

Always. I recieved those type of errors during my testing and tracked them to:

1. I had a directory in my oem w/o a dsm file. or some duplicated file.
2. SOMETIMES and only rarely if I used the "viewimgfs" to decode a rom from the same dos prompt and then ran createrom it would do that.

you might have noted that I inculded a builder.cmd file in the rom i posted. If you CLICK on that from explorer you can avoice issue #2 altogether.

The most likely cause is some file in you're OEM's that is conflicting. and for that you simply have to go on the hunt and find the offending file.

If you have an OEM that is trying to make you're rom "cbowy" this rom could present some conflicts for you. Either rip you're cbowy oem out for now, or wait for a newer build. To my knowledge there is NOTHING else in this rom that could contribute to any build issue like what you are having, and this is most likely some conflict in you're oem add-ons.

I will remind you that this is a PRE-RELEASE. You're comments are being listened too though.

I will be finishing this thread off tomorrow morning. I have identified the following changes to the _pre release and will be implementing and loading them tomorrow.

1. updated boot flash screen.
2. Undo my mess up regarding the Crossbow.
3. {the NEWS} I just flashed a rom that now allows me to Uncheck the "Use Advanced Networking" button.

I need to test against 3, and make sure I've resolved only the NEEDED issue, and not packaged some inadvertant problem, and as you may have also noted i'm running somewhat short on sleep. Sorry, that means no repackage tonight. But hey. Just 2 days ago we had little to no insight on the smart-dialer..

Enjoy and g-night.

Wow, you guys have done so much in just a day! I made a run to Phoenix today (6 hours round trip) cuz my wife was auditioning to sing the national anthem at a Diamondbacks game. She made it! So she will be singing in front of 50,000 people. I could never try that! Anyway, what a nice surprise to find all this had occurred when I got home tonight!
