Metal Gear Solid Ringtone
 

If anyone has played the game Metal Gear Solid then you know the sound that Snake's earpiece or "Codec" makes when he is getting an incoming call does anyone know where to get that sound file so I can make it my ringtone?:scratch:

had this for years as my ringtone... dont know what i did with it though... i'll see if i can dig it up when i get home.

as far as loudness I've got to re-do this for my phone since I just put on the new Official Rom there's registry settings to increase ringer volume and speaker vol...I'm sorry they are not handy now but I believe I got them from here....or at least from xda-developers.... just be careful as it is quite possible to damage your speaker this way.... :-) I just peeked in HKCU\ControlPanel and volume but it looks different so I cant be sure without looking at my notes... but control panel sounds right maybe its control panel sounds but you should browse and confirm that they are just single digit values no hex or decimal so it should be easy...

i got the really extremely rare Final Fantasy 3 soundtrack, FF6 in japan, Kefkas domain. all 3 cds perfect condition... your not the only one...

i had to download each track lol, lucky, but i mean ANY major rpg i will identify it with the quickness, its like music id lol, hell i can play half the tunes on a keyboard.. maybe i said too much haha

ya welcome:) I've been using this ringer for awhile now as the alert for my incoming text messages. turns heads in class, almost tempted to say "Snake here" everytime it goes off, lol.

Thanks for the MGS ringer! I like the one posted earlier because it's smaller.

I wish I had something to add - I have a bunch of Phantasy Star midi files from the old Sega genesis days. Let me know if anyone's interested and I'll post em.

Keep em coming folks - I like these kind of sounds better than songs from recording artists.

wheredo i need to put the sound to get it for alarms and text alerts i put them in my ringtones but they only show up for incoming calls not for alarms or anything? am i doing something wrong?

Now that I have the Codec ringtone for my mogul I kinda want to take it a step further and try to change the ringer on the inside of my bluetooth... now if I had the Codec directly in my ear that would be a totally different ball game!!!

DUDes.!! that codec RT is awesome!!... i've been lookin for MGS sounds for the longest.. especially for sliding sounds,..but have yet to find any. :(. I'm look'in for the sound when snake dies...and the
game goes..SNAKE..!!!!! and when your walkin around unseen.. and then the guards see you, that Big ALERT that goes off..(scares the crap out of you). Any sounds would be awesume, (i've already check the MGS websites but the sounds don't work there.) thanks guys

yea, the scream of "snake?... SNAKE!!" is bit overdone. I wouldn't use it for ringtone.

Yes, the guard alert sound would be awesome! I will see if I can extract it from somewhere. Will let you know here If I find anything.

Well i didn't mean i would put the (SNAKE.!!) sound as a ringtone...I meant it for Sliding keyboard Sounds.... thanks for the help...

Alarms and text alerts have to be in certain folders and certain file types as well. for alarms they have to be in .wav format and either in the windows folder or the root of your memory card. For text alerts they can be in any format (not sure about .wav) but has to be in either the windows, my documents, root of memory card or in my documents folder in memory card. Hope that helps.
