I tweaked the inject a little. I've updated the CAB, or you can just unzip and copy the attached file to the WP-Activate installation directory - then try the inject one more time :)

I've tweaked the injector some more - to slow it down. Please download, reinstall and try it again.

Question: Did you install this into main memory or on your storage card?

Will try again in a bit. Was doing some other modding and screwed up my MS3 install. Having to remove and reinstall.

THANK YOU STORYR! This worked perfectly for me. I have HTC Advantage 7501, MS3, WP on Today Screen, WM 6 Pro. Just followed your directions exactly.

P.S. If it says "Weather Panel Not Found", go to your Today screen and make sure Weather Panel is showing on the screen.

GREAT APP! Excellent work as always storyr. One question: For future releases, would it be possible for the end user to control what the WP activate button pulls up? I had configured a widget to call my second today screen (which only has WP running on it) so I get a full-size WP Today plug-in that's configured how I want it with no annoying "BINK" sound as it opens. I used SK Shortcut manager to assign a "weather-type" icon to my second today shortcut so the widget looks like a weather app...it just doesn't reflect any changing conditions.

It is not the same error. I'm getting the line 219 error. Also it is getting stuck on the sort pop up. I would also like to see if there is a manual way to put these in like the below post

Yes, I hear ya. It sounds like you're familiar with customizing MS...

Basically, what the inject does is add the contents of the file TheWidgetToInject.xml to the Widgets.xml file - which resides inside qa_layouts.dat.

You've probably done this plenty of times. No need to add the registry entries - that part is done by the installer.

I'm perplexed as to why it's not working for some folks. If you have time, would you mind running the cecmd.exe file inside the WP-Activate install directory - to see if it even runs?

Plus: What's your device, version of windows mobile, custom rom?

The latest version doesn't do this step. You might try downloading and trying it again.

You can accomplish that now by editing the "File" string value in following registry entries:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Spb Software House\Shared\Spb Menu\Customize2\WeatherPanel\Widget1]

- and -

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Spb Software House\Shared\Spb Menu\Customize2\WeatherPanel\Widget2]

Change the "File" value to point to your 2nd Today link...

i just did above and it loaded further but still stopped on samw error. it did go further though, now i see icons on inject screen but nothing on ms itself. im on a stock tp with ms3 beta, i was thinking beta could be the problem maybe?

i also ran the exe and it opens to the screen in my pictures with all the opera files. does that make sense?

This package includes it's own copy of total commander - it's not necessary to install it, and shouldn't matter if it's already installed.

You may be right. If you folks don't mind, I'll post a new version of the injector script file - with the commands slowed way down. Give me a few minutes...

OK, for those have troubles with their injections - if you'd like to try this new script out, I'd really appreciate it. It's slowed WAY down, and may give some clues as to what's going on.

1. Download the file and unzip it.

2. Copy the single file InjectWidget.mscr into you WP-Activate installation folder (under Program Files\Uranus :mrgreen: ).

3. Run the WP Inject Widget again

I had the same "window not found" error. Looking at the Widgets.xml file that was generated, it was missing the "s>" from the last line, leaving it invalid. I manually completed the last few steps and updated the qa_layouts.dat file and it works great. I have a fair number of widgets so timing could be the cause.

Interesting. So from your observations, it whacked the last two characters from the file? fyi, it does make a backup first - inside the mobile shell folder.

This works with WeatherPanel only. Theoretically, it could be modified to work with PW too.

For that matter, it could work with anything that collects data, like sports scores, etc...
