Re: HOW TO: Customize TouchFLO3D / Manila Themes

GoodThings,

Man, I have a new found respect for Theme builders. I am understanding what to do, and how to do it...that is not the problem. Its just a TRULY daunting task. Where to begin and whatnot...

However I am determined. I want to create a Fallout 3 theme for touchflo, and I will do so. Its most assuredly NOT going to be a quick thing, but if my idea is possible, it should be pretty nice.

Do you know about size restrictions regarding the icons? I realize the bigger in size they are the more it will adversely affect touchflo, so I plan on keeping them as close to the original as possible. I am just curious if they have to meet some 'exacting' size restriction.

Thanks

Which ROM is the Sprint ROM?

For the call history tab, the only one that works with the Sprint ROM is the one that I have posted in this thread. It is the "Bepe .95 Fix" cab on the XDA thread.

Do you know where in the registry these colors are stored?

Start Menu Highlight Colors are in HKLM\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu

Task Manager Highlight Colors are in HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager

You'll find ManilaCustom** values that need modified. It's not very easy to tweak them since they're binary, and the task manager ones especially have all the colors in one value...

That pattern I use is something like this (with 00 as required separators):

Code:

TITLE,NORMALTEXT,HIGHLIGHTTEXT,DISABLEDTEXT,SUBNORMALTEXT,SUBHIGHLIGHTEXT,SUBDIS ABLEDTEXT,OnOffNORMALTEXT,OnOffHIGHLIGHTTEXT,OnOffDisabledText

FFFFFF00FFFFFF00FFFFFF0033333300C1C1C100C1C1C10033333300FFFFFF00FFFFFF0033333300

GoodThings2Life - sorry to tell you this, but your sprint manila revised package messed with my communications manager. Basically, I couldn't turn on wifi from it. After I uninstalled your package it went back to normal and started working :/

It doesn't break it. Comm Manager doesn't allow you to toggle wifi while it's connected to the computer. If you're not able to toggle it while it's disconnected it is an unrelated issue to another tweak in Diamond Tweak or Advanced Config... search the Touch Pro forum for a fix.

First of all, GOOD LUCK!

Second, I definitely don't make any size changes. Ever. All the graphic sizes are pretty hard coded in the manila files, so if yours don't match, they'll get mangled.

That said, there are several graphics (most I've documented) that don't work well with Manila Editor. I'm not entirely sure how some people have gotten around the issues, to be honest, although I've seen several themes that do so. If you find something I should add, feel free to let me know!

Can this run on the mogul?

No. Manila2D is what's available for the Mogul and Touch devices, and they have their own thread for their types of themes.

Had to hard reset today and first thing I did was to reinstall your stuff, tested it before I installed anything else, and everything is working fine. Last time I installed wmwifirouter around the same time and I think it broke my wifi comm manager.

I have been attempting to add the the call history tab but keep running into some kind of problem. I added the section of code from the first page along with adding the extra file to the windows folder. When I load up and go to the history tab everything looks good but then when I leave the history tab which ever tab I go to appears blank and Manila is looked up. I have to toggle it off then on in today settings to get it to work again. Any chance you can post a version of the 26948339_manila file you are using so I can try it or at the very least open it side by side with mine to compare?

You need to install the attached manila file on that post as well as the code in 26948339_manila. Without the extra file I attached (extract and place in Windows folder), it will lock up like that.
