HLKM\Software\HTC\StartUpAnimation\

You'll find several keys there you can play with including "Enabled" (switch to 1 or 0 based on your preference). If you keep it enabled you can use the key "GIFFile" to change the Gif used (although I simply named my animation "SPCS_startup.gif" and copied overed the original to make sure there weren't any gotcha's along the way).
I searched the registry, and in this folder, I find no registry entries. So I made a dword entry called "Enabled" and I gave it a value of "0". This did nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

Made my fisrt Windows Mobile splash screen, it's very simple (but when you are not good at graphic work you gotta start small)....

here is the first one I made, just remember to change the name of it to "welcomehead.96.png"

I know it's not all that special, but when you aren't very good at graphics, you kinda have to start small and work your way up :)

I just got done working on making a Windows Mobile Splash Screen for each Soul Calibur IV char.

You can grab your fav char by going to: http://comics.erichss.com/PPC/SplashScreens/SoulCal/

And remember to use them as your Splash Screen, you need to rename the file to welcomehead.96.png and replace that file in the /windows directory.

My phone won't let me rename the file in the windows folder. The option is grayed out. I tried to view it on my computer but the windows file doesn't show up at all. Any ideas?

u have to un hide the folders on your pc to see your windows folder on your phone
