HTC LEO= Touch HD2= Sprint Adonis!
 

Well my TP which i've had since October of last year finally started with the dreaded keyboard problem, although i've been pressing on the keyboard to get it to come back on. I called Sprint about the problem and they went over my choices.. I haven't done anything about it yet because it's only been a minor issue so far and doesn't happen too much yet. Well today a Sprint representative called me about the problem and noticed that i have an upgrade coming on the 1st of November. She then started going over all the new phones and i kindly told her i wasn't interested in any of those. I told her i was waiting for the Leo/Touch HD2 if it was coming to Sprint. She told me that it should be released around Christmas time and will be called the Sprint Adonis! I'm all over this phone and will be holding off on my upgrade until christmas.. lol

Sounds credible, I can't wait to see it but something tells me the Price will be bananas. Maybe this is why Sprint skipped on the HTC Diamond2.

I hope so too.. it's weird though, because she told me near christmas time, but all the websites i have seen say Q1 of 2010. I thought about the hero, but decided against it because it really seems like a downgrade. Half vga screen, no keyboard, 3.2 inch screen... I don't want to downgrade resolution and i can't use a touch keyboard only on a 3.2 inch screen.

hero is a good device, just too much of a candy phone. the laggyness killed it for me. i got it cheap and didnt use my upgrade so im ok with it. its like a better instinct to me. if i had a vogue or titan it would be a great upgrade but tp to hero, nope.

Suprised you guys had lag on the Hero, this thing has been a speed demon for me.
The only app I had lag with, even remotely was HTC Peep.

I may never go back to Windows Mobile, I found pretty much every WinMo alternative on this phone & then some.

Until this Adonis appears, the Hero is far ahead of them in my eyes.

I'm sure this doesn't equate to too much, seeing as it could just wind up being the US gsm version, but if you go to http://www.htc.com/us/faq_detail.asp...&act=faq&cat=0 they've already got a page for it. The link (297), is right in between the pure (296) and the Imagio (298).

wow, this just sounds too good to be true, but I sure hope it is. I'm not holding my breathe though, most of Sprint CS agents are idiots, I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually Sprints version of the Whitestone or TD2.

Why did this get moved to off topic/phone comparisons? Those are equal signs, not "or's" or "vs's"!!

I don't think this was a smart idea on sprints part, especially considering you can't even put it on legacy plans, but I honestly think the Hero is the diamond's replacement for this year (In Sprints head anyway). That aside, I do still think (and hope) the HD2/Adonis will be coming to Sprint.

No Windows Mobile phone has ever been rejected from being SERO'd, even if they have better specs then WebOS or Android phones.

when i bought the hero,[i know its android] rep said all new ppc's will need everything data plans, could be bs but thats what he said.

I just hope from looking at the LEO, that the the raised buttons dont cause an issue of the ole accidently being pressed and answering calls..etc...you know same things we always have to deal with when in the pocket/case..etc. It would of been nice if they were flush 8)

I really really hate to think this out loud, but I have little faith in what the agent said. I'm reasonably sure most agents don't really know much about even their current devices, I sincerely doubt that some low or even mid-level agent can randomly bust out something like "oh yeah we're getting the HD2, it'll be called Adonis. watch for it around Christmas". Just doesn't sound feasible to me.

IF this particular agent does happen to know something about some upcoming phone, they could easily be confusing that other phone with the HD2.

All that said, I would like nothing more than to be wrong about everything I just said :)

well, i'm getting the tp2 when verizon gets it in stock, theres no way to explain it unless they dont roll out the omnia2 and this instead, though i highly doubt it.

The Hero is not a downgrade to the TP...that is for sure. While I do miss the physical keyboard of my mogul, the spelling correction is fantastic. You can butcher the spelling of a word, and most of the time, the phone figures out what you were trying to type. I've had a few times where the phone has lagged a bit, but that has added up to maybe 30 seconds of my usage over the last 5 days. And I've used it a lot. Also, the phone never gets hot. A little warm, but that's it. It gets warmer when I charge it at night, than under heavy usage.

Although IF sprint gets the HD2, that phone will be a beast. Plus, with a capacitive screen, it is going to be fantastic. After using the hero's capacitive screen, I'll never go back to a resistive screen. The HD2 will be a powerhouse. Since HTC seems to use the same processor for all their phones, maybe all new HTC phones will use the processor of the HD2? :D We can always hope.

Edit: I take that back, I see "Confidential and Proprietary Information of T-Mobile USA" at the bottom....sweet. But prepare for sticker shock. If you thought the TP2 was expensive....wait till you see the price of this phone.

Actually it is US T-Mo, hence the " Stick together". Otherwise it'd say "Life's for sharing". Anyway, I still wanna know why this thread is in phone comparison :(

Wow! I really hope this is true. I've had my vogue for 2 years now and it's time to upgrade. I'd be happy with this or a whitestone on Sprint. Of course, I REALLY want this.

For $1K, on a contract (which I'm assuming relisted was talking about when he said "with the upgrade"), that phone better do everything...and I mean everything. It better fly, make time travel possible, power my house, battery that recharges itself by absorbing CO2, be an attentive lover in bed, etc...

I thought Expansys was offering an unlocked GSM version for $870 and Clove for $740. I don't see it being anywhere near $1000 with contract. But with the TP2 being $350, an HD2 being $400+ wouldn't surprise me.

I dont see this being 1k mainly becasue if they expect to cell some then 300 maybe? Be awesome if they decided to turn it into a true iphone killer.. make it come with 2 batteries of 2500 MAH or something. Though One thing I wish cell phones had is hot replaceable batteries. Have like a small built in battery enough to last maybe an hour of talk time at most so you can replace the battery on the fly and have emergency power for well emergencies.
