Should I get it?

Hey everyone. I lurk around these forums all the time, but just registered today. I've been in quite a pickle recently, so I decided to post here to get some 3rd party opinions on the situation.

I'm looking to get a ppc, but which one to get is the problem. I seem to be stuck between the Omnia and the Diamond. I know that I do not want a hardware keyboard because I have always had them and want something different.

I am currently a member of verizon, so when I saw the Omnia i was :O I want that, but the diamond was originally what I wanted. If I was to choose the Diamond, then I would probably also switch to Sprint instead of getting one put on the vzw network just because I am getting tired of verizon.

One thing that is really knocking the Omnia for me is the resolution of the screen, compared to the diamond. For people that have it, could you explain how good/bad it is please. Also, how expensive is a plan with verizon to have unlimited data in it? I really don't want to go through their website searching for it when someone that has it could just tell me. I know Sprint is fairly cheap, so that's another plus for the diamond.

Lastly, customization doesn't seem that promising for the Omnia compared with the Diamond, but I may be wrong. Thoughts on this would help a lot.

Thanks in advanced!

The vga screen is a noticeable improvement over omnia. Verizon's everything plan is $140. Compared to Sprint at $99. HTC does rule this board. Just keep in mind Verizon's coverage can't be beat.

your right about coverage...but free roaming easily fixes that problem in most areas

I was originally interested in getting the Diamond also. I go the Omnia instead and I think it was the right decision for me. The screen is bigger (3.2 compared to 2.8) so actually has more room for information then the Diamond does.

The omnia has the capability to have 32GB (8GB internal storage and a 16GB mSD card) of extra storage while the Diamond from Sprint maxes out at 4GB.

The camera is a 5MP auto focus with LED as compared to a 3.2MP auto focus camera.

The Samsung is customizable but not as much as the Diamond. Hoefully Verizon will release a full ROM soon and we might be able to customize ROMs just like the Diamond.

Verizon unlimited data is $29.99 on this phone. There is a $45 plan also but you only need this if you want to use Verizons' wireless sync program.

While the screen is larger, the resolution on the diamond is better. Is the res on the Omnia even bad though?

LOL... 8gb + 16gb = 24gb...but yea this is an HTC driven site...so the Diamond is more customizable at the moment...

as far as resolution I really can't tell the difference, I have a friend that has the Fuze and maybe i'm blind but I don't see anything that would make me go the the Diamond or Touch pro

I have verizons unlimited plan for 129.99 which is 99.99 + 29.99 for the unlimited data... but I prefer Vzw's superior customer service and if u have the insurance they basically ask no questions, they just replace ur phone...

the omnia screen is better to me.
i worked on two fuzes in the last two days and the vga screen makes the words tiny.
its very crisp but tiny.
the omnia is crisp and the words are normal.
i think its a fix for the tiny letters in vga phones.

Will the Omnia ever be fully customizable like the diamond? I'd like to do work on the Omnia, but it doesn't seem like there's much to do.

I have the diamond. You can make the font bigger on the diamond its just a setting. I have never owned the the omnia, but have compared the screen next to my diamond and liked the diamond screen better. I like to have a lot of options as far as roms go. so the diamond is for me. I guess it depends on what your looking for.
