Diamond vs TP for daily use?

So I've come up on a free Diamond, cousin doesnt want the one Assurion is sending him so im giving away my old Vogue for it.

I am wondering how many have had both the Diamond and the TP and which one worked better for daily use? I use my phone mainly for email and tnd calender at work, along with about an hour of phone calls a day. Battery doesnt concern me as I have a charger in my office, car, and work car. Aside from the keyboard are there many differences between the two that may affect fuctionality?

Re: Diamond vs TP for daily use?

What are some of the things that make it better? I only use the keyboard if Im replying to an email and I know it will be long, or I am posting here, like now. I know I rarely use the tvout, and I can do this to stream via wifi, and the business card reader doesnt get used either. So what advantages have you seen?

Re: Diamond vs TP for daily use?

The Diamond has all the features of the Pro minus the keyboard and the thickness. Personally I like the thinness of the Diamond and do just fine on TouchPal for typing.

Don't forget about having a MicroSD card slot on the Touch Pro.

Re: Diamond vs TP for daily use?

The micro SD slot is the only reason I got the Pro over the Diamond. I don't use the hard keyboard or TV Out, so everything else is really a wash. Same RAM and processor.

Re: Diamond vs TP for daily use?

I started with the touch pro. Got a diamond for the weekends, so it would fit in my pocket. Ended up noticing that I really don't need the TP over the Diamond.
After a period I gave the TP to my spouse.
I don't miss anything on the Diamond and prefer it's small size. It's got plenty of room left on the internal storage as well. I used to only use a 2gb card in my mogul - so there's lots more now.

Re: Diamond vs TP for daily use?

The TP also has double the storage memory (512mb vs 256mb ROM), so you could install more apps. to the main memory. However, I have quite a bit installed on my diamond and still have ~40mb free, so I don't think I'll have a problem.

Re: Diamond vs TP for daily use?

for me, I rather have the Diamond, i could care less about the slide out keyboard as I am a pretty fast typer with Touchpal, TV out is no big deal for me and 4gb is way more then enough since I don't use my phone as a media player (I have a ipod touch for that).

also I think the TP looks worse (design) then the Diamond. Not to mention the chrome strip chips off after a while.

Re: Diamond vs TP for daily use?

I have the Diamond, had wanted the keyboard/PRO but couldn't wait. My b/f did wait and so I've used both. I am very happy to keep the Diamond and don't regret my choice. I never use his keyboard and my phone has been way more stable than his (except for user error.. can't seem to leave the modding alone) on a daily basis. I LOVE the smaller size too!
